I loaded 12 .308 Win today. I thought I'd try some IMR 4350 (usually use BLC2). So, I made up 4 different loads of 3 each with 165 gr. SPs.
I'll load up more of whichever one looks best. Waiting for delivery of more .308 bullets, so taking it slow until then.

Have been loading .44 mags with H110, XTPs and mag primers. But I'm out of XTPs and have 400 Hdy 240 LSWC that I want to load for. I have both H110 and IMR 4227 on hand. But manuals (Lyman, Sierra, Hdy, Nosler) show mag primers for H110 and IMR 4227 with jacketed, but not with lead. Would have thought they'd be the same. I hate to assume that I could use magnum primers for both lead and copper, and get the same pressures, but any comments on that? (I have a lot more mag primers than standard)

You know your right, its also a de-wormer. Haven't had a single worm since I've been drinking ! ! !

I am targeting tomorrow night (Saturday) to venture into a nice tumbler of Jameson, god willing and the river don/t rise. (which is funny cause its monsoon season in Az right now, and we have finally been getting wet. Flash flood warnings just went off and its coming down good).

Never used any mag primers.
Even though I have 1200 LR mag primers.
Picked up 1k by accident once a couple years back, then last year a buddy just gave me 200.

Need a bit of advice!
I am having trouble feeding .44 mag lead 240 grain SWC with a COAL greater than 1.600 in my (newly acquired ) Henry carbine. Lyman manual and Hodgdon show 1.645" and 1.620" respectively in their tables. All the copper loads are 1.600 and I had no trouble with those.
First time I've loaded lead SWCs in a rifle, so I was wondering if anyone has had the same experience.

I have an older BBB 44 and it cycles swc's no problem.
I have even loaded some heavy cast, and never a problem.
I don't recall the OAL.

Some lever guns will handle SWC bullets and some won't. My Marling 1894 in 45 Colt will feed my 200 gr SWC lead bullets all day long. On the other hand my Winchester 94 does not like those loads. It will feed a few rounds then one will hang up while chambering. Now if I give that Winchester the Missouri 250 gr RNFP bullet, it will crank those through as fast as you can operate the lever.

My 357 Mag Henry BBS and Rossi R92, feed whatever I put on the magazine. I've even tried 357 Mag brass with full wadcutters and both rifles would feed them, but the Rossi would hesitate once in awhile.

Sometimes it just the nature of the beast.

Easy explanation, The Winchester 94 was designed by John Browning for rifle rounds , 38-55, 32-40, 30-30  etc. The marlin 94 was made to take the shorter pistol rounds .

I do my loading in a 6 ft. X 6ft. room out in my detached Garage/shop. I put in a wood floor over the concrete and An AC unit in the wall so even when it's in the nineties no problem.

Thought about A/C in the shop, but, I usually load in Fall, Winter and Spring, so, normally good on things. I'll just wait it out, Fall around the corner.

Actually the loading room ac unit was bought to be used in our kitchen window to be run by the Generac when we have prolonged power outages from a named storm. I has only happened once but went on for six days so we lived in the back of the house. It was not too much of a hardship and the generator is pure sign wave so we could use the computer. Using the emergency ac in the reloading room keeps it working some instead of just sitting and becoming nonfunctional.

I spent the last week setting up the press to reload. This morning I filled the five primer pickup tubes for the Dillon 550b and loaded 100 rounds of LRN 9mm. I went down to the new range and test fired the ammo. It has been years since I shot the Glock 19, and the first target (Circle to the left) showed it. I fired 7 rounds slow fire at 7 yards and it's not a group to brag about.

So, I loaded another mag, moved back to ten and tried to concentrate. I aimed at the center circle. My shooting glasses need replaced, and I have an appointment at the end of the month for that... but I fired 9 rounds and the group was way left. Loaded another mag and FOCUSED. The group looked a lot better. More centered and a better, tighter group. This was a test of the ammo and my ability. I just finally got to start shooting again after about three years, but it's coming back.

Final string, right circle. 9 Rounds, Rapid fire at 7 yards. Much better group. I didn't want to shoot up all the 9mm since I loaded this first 100 rounds so Tina could practice with her new Kimber Micro 9 EDC. I'm good with the load so I'll load up another 400 rounds for now. 3.9 grains of W231 with a 125g LRN bullet. Shoots well, not too much recoil. Practice Round. The carry ammo is Gold Dot or Hydrashock.

We have our Oklahoma Concealed Carry class coming up. We will probably shoot the Glock 23s in that class. Plenty of American Eagle 40 on hand.
You must provide your own handgun and factory ammo for the class. No worries. Oklahoma is a Constitutional Carry state but a Concealed Carry permit allow Reciprocity out of state. Covers the states we would visit. Worth the day in class and the $300 or so in class fee and cost of the ten year permit. ($200) That's each.

Now to clean the Glock 19 and put it away. I have others to shoot, I'll leave the 9mm for Miss T.

I reloaded 300 38spl cases for range fodder. I used 125gr rnfp jacketed bullets from RMR, Winchester small pistol primers, discovered 5.5gr of CFE pistol is pretty much a tack driver in both my 686 and 627, and used mixed brass.
I then loaded 300 357mags with the same bullet but put 12gr of A7 under them hopefully giving me about 1kfps, something easy and fun to shoot.
Still have about 1400 of the bullets. Gotta love RMR

Thought about A/C in the shop

Hey RT. Currently my loading area is in the attached garage. We have decided to build a new house on the property (this one is 10 years old, time to move on!). The current house will be a guest house.

In the new house, I have been allowed to create a reloading room in the house ! ! ! It will be 10X14. We use Fujitsu split head A/C unit in the current house and it works great, each room has its own A/C head on the wall and works independently. I dialed in a split head in my proposed man cave just yesterday. Works as a heater also. I am also dialing in two fart fans to vent vapors and odors when I clean.

We are in a cooling trend here in AZ, 101 today and 90 on Friday ! Time to pull out the jackets.

r-n-g, I've heard real good reviews on those split head units. You're already ahead of the game. How are the A/C heads mounted? Drywall removal, then some way to get coolant to the head? I like the idea, just don't know much about 'em.
I've mentioned a time or two about turning our "quest" room into my loading room to my wife. Yuo can probably figure out how that went over!

Split heads have the compressor outside, with a multi head unit, there is a junction box in the attic and it runs to the individual heads in each room. Each head works interdependently, you can turn individual heads on or off depending on where you are in the house, and they are very effective. As an example, I have run my split heads at 72 degrees 24/7 since May and my latest electric bill was $201.56!
In Calif that would have run $600.00
