Had a few min's , so I ran over to the club range.
Took the 45-70 and the box of 350 gr rn bullets
I found yesterday. That I loaded back in Feb.
Only pushing @ 1790 fps. But they made it a full
100 yds. And still penetrated a thick. Cardboard target.

first time I've ever seeing a target like that .... 4 350 grain rounds from a 45-70 in the heart at 100 yards, I'd take that most any old time .... well done, truly well done

I have , come to exspect , good groups out of the 45-70. , with. The 3 different 45-70's. I have owned
If your not trying to push them. As hard as you
Can. They really can surprise you. How well they will shoot. I don't try to turn them into 300 win.mags.
Thanks for the reply's everyone.

Looks like a lot of fun. I would expect those to go through a few jugs of water at 100 yards let alone a thick cardboard target. That is a lot of mass moving pretty quickly.
