Packers and Brewers

Post by Sir Henry » Fri Aug 12, 2022 8:17 pm

I said I was going to boycott the Brewers because they took the Seattle Pilots back in 1969 and the Packers because I have issues with the NFL. The problem is I love football and baseball. I’ve been listening to the Brewers on the radio and just turned the first preseason Packers game on.

What can I say? There are worse addictions to have.

It is hard to stay away from these trained likes, isnt it? Go Broncos!

I watched the Packers loose to the 49ers last night. Today I’ll be listening to Bob Uecker announce the Brewers on the radio.

Yesterday I ordered a Packers hoodie and have been looking for the right Brewers t-shirt or hat. I’m also trying to find a Seattle Pilots shirt or hat so I can wear it to a Brewers game.

I grew up a WSU Cougar and when I moved to Seattle I remained one. Not popular in Husky territory.

It was years in the making, but I don't watch sports. I couldn't tell you who is in the SuperBowl or the World Series in any given year. Working varying shift work for a long time made it hard to follow anyone. I lost interest and have other things I enjoy a lot more.

I hope you enjoy your games Gene, there are far worse addictions for sure.

Go Cougs!

Another partial rebuild with the coaching change.

Gene, some advice, here. We are not a football fans and we don't have any Green Bay paraphernalia, but for the sake of survival up here, we usually just let the locals assume we are Packers fans. It's somewhat akin to not upsetting the natives and risking being thrown into the volcano to appease the gods.

I think there are a few pretend Packer fans in my neighborhood. Not so much with the Brewers. The Mariners and Brewers are the only two teams that have never won the World Series. I sure know how to pick them.

The head coach was fired for not getting a covid vac and the starting QB transferred to one of the Arizona schools. Plus the normal graduation all schools endure. Regardless, I’m very excited for the start of the season. Go Cougs.

The Packers are playing the Saints and I’m watching the game on TV.

Go Packers!

Go Pilots! I mean Brewers. I want to get a Brewers hat and wear it with my Pilots t-shirt. I wonder if anyone will catch the connection.

Growing up I think I was the only Packer fan in western SD, and I was Milwaukee fan but the Braves not the Brewers and sadly stayed a Braves fan when they moved to Atlanta.

I was a Pilots fan sort of. I was in nam the one and only year they played in Seattle. I knew about them but was unable to follow them. Then I get home and they were gone.

I ordered a Brewers hat last night while watching the Packers.

LOL, turned it off and forgot it even exists. Nothing less important than adults making millions playing a game.
