I was thinking the same thing. The only thing better than Keith’s shooting is his photography.Kissmybrass wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 5:16 pmRR you have the best profile pics ever! And nice shot placement (as usual lol)

Is that smoke in front of that target pic? Were you standing right in front of it when you were shooting?
I’m soooo kidding. That is excellent shooting. You set a high bar when you first started shooting that flintlock. It just keeps getting higher. Impressive.

Haha, don’t worry I’ve shot some real crappers too, still do. I have a bad habit of pulling left that I have to work on all the time. But I am shooting off hand for everything now. Just have to keep at it.

Re: Flintlock Fun on a rainy day....
Right now I am making a custom brass ramrod for this rifle. Didn’t start out a custom one, but it arrived in the mail bent and the 3/8 diameter was too tight for the thimbles under the barrel. So after much filing and sanding it is now a custom brass rod.
Not done yet, needs to be smoothed out and I’ll put a nice patina on it.

Like that brass rod. Looks good against that wood.

My 7 lb. rifle becomes an 8 lb. rifle. Curious to see how this affects my off hand shooting. It will absorb some recoil, and maybe help me hold on target during and after the shot. Better eats me spinach.

Re: Flintlock Fun on a rainy day....
I always used brass rods as range rods, anyway. You could certainly shoot then gun without the ramrod installed. Don't think the nit of extra weight will cause you any problems, though.
