Range Report: Beeman P1

Post by Sir Henry » Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:07 pm

Now that I’m shooting longways on my deck I can shoot more. Here I’m shooting spinners at 5 yards. Now that it’s above freezing I’m shooting more and longer. I shot rimfire across the driveway for a few minutes and then shot pellets for an hour. Coffee break and I’m going back out. I think I can shoot CO2 soon because I can step out for ten minutes and then when the firearm gets too cold I can step inside or just grab another warm one.

Never tried that with CO2, yet. Just bought my first CO2 pistol last year. May give that a try.

I have the current HW version of the P1 (HW made the P1 for Beeman). Only difference is that my HW45/P1 has FO sights, which is nice for plinking steel and, following your lead, I've been doing the shoot the HW/P1 from the deck and duck back inside when I get cold kind of thing. Yup, your enthusiasm has me braving the cold for some fun shooting. Owe you one.

We've had enough melting this last week that our shooting benches are slowly, but surely, emerging from the snow. Still have a ways to go, though, before I can use them. In the meantime, I will continue shooting from the deck and keeping the coffee hot. :)

I have a nice clear dry deck to shoot from the problem I have is I have to track through deep snow to set out targets and then they just sink in. I’m glad I spent part of a winter here before making a range. Now I know where the drifts are and how deep they can get.

Joanie you are about an hour away. When the snow clears and my range is better setup I’ll have you and Bill over for shooting.

Gene I can not wait for you, Joanie, and Bill to get together. Range day, or just getting together to enjoy the company. I don’t recall if you have ever met face to face. But I feel like you are old friends already.
Wish I could be there.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)

Sounds great, Gene. And, as always, you're welcome here. You, too, Seabee.

I met Joanie and Bill in the fall of 2017 when I picked up my teardrop. They have a wonderful home overlooking a lake. Maybe we could have a regional get together this summer.
