I haven’t been able to leave the property for a week. I walked up to the Hill Of Beans today only to discover they are only open Thursday through Sunday.

Yes it’s a very tough life here on the homestead. :D

There is nothing I need to leave the property for although I am itching to buy stuff and set up my range.

A neighbor stopped by a few minutes ago and invited me over for dinner on Thursday. He knew my wife had passed away and asked how long ago. When I told him five years ago he said that’s long enough and then asked if I minded if he had another guest over. I said no and he mentioned she was a widow.

I learned more about the area. The woman that owns the land around my property was born in the house. Her father built the house. Most of my neighbors are three and four generations of living here.

This area just keeps getting better and better.

I ordered these today and should have them in a week. I will be putting them on the wall in my bedroom and installing a deadbolt after I re-enforce the screws. This might not work for city folks however I feel safe here. Eventually I’ll get a real safe. I’ll be putting my Henry rimfires and 10/22’s in them. They are what I will be shooting the most.

This is my bedroom. The lump under the covers is Little Girl. Yes those are Craftsman tool cabinets as bedside tables.

Things are looking good Gene! I like the utilitarian aspect of the nightstands. That could work really well for my needs.🤔👍
Kinda funny about LittleGirl. Ours does the same. Refuses to move when trying to make the bed.

The tool cabinets are really practical and they match my dresser. I’ll be putting the racks alongside the wall.

Is that knotty pine on the walls? That's what the walls were in my childhood bedroom.

I received my Bieye Tiffany stained glass window today and hung it in the stairway window. I’ll see it every time I use the stairs. I choose blue and yellow because they are the colors of the Swedish flag. I’m English however the house and the area is Swedish.

This picture was taken at twilight. It needs to be repositioned higher and closer to the window pane. It’s 18x24”.
