Winter Cut / Summer Cut

Post by BrokenolMarine » Thu Mar 03, 2022 7:30 am

Here on the little farm, the pastures get a winter cut and a summer cut. In the summer, the grass is allowed to grow long and lush and Tina tops it now and then with the tractor to keep it from infecting the cows eyes as they graze. If we were going to cut it for hay, they'd be kept off it, and it would grow to height. As winter looms, Tina cuts the grass down one last time to about twelve inches, winter forage, and the cows get grain. It works out well...

:D

I on the other hand, am just the opposite. MY winter cut is to not, cut. I let my hair grow because I don't go out much, and it keeps my head warm. (Yeah, right. :? It also annoys Miss Ts eyes all winter.) I shave if and when it moves me, and sometimes have a beard. :D

When summer rolls around, I switch to my summer cut. All that hair actually bugs me in the winter, but in Oklahoma, in 100+ heat... ... I go back to my two career hair cut. Call it what you want, high and tight / cop cut, whatever. With that cut, there are no bad hair days. then I shave off everything but a neat goatee, or... Just a mustache. I keep the face fairly clean shaven thru the summer heat. ;)

Saw the barber yesterday. Summer is coming. If we get another cold snap, I'll need a wool beanie... :D

At least you have enough hair to cut.

Medium length and Go-T year round. Costs more for haircuts though.

Hair? What’s that? Oh yeah I remember now, that stuff on the top of a head that waves in the breeze.

My buddy always ragged me that the only hair HE had grew out of his ears and his nose. His wife trimmed THAT.

Funny story....

Miss T always talked about how great Vin Diesel and the Rock looked with their shaved pates... So I shaved my head, every couple days, shaved it smooth. I kinda liked it. :D Again, easy to wash, :) and no bad hair days.

SHE finally told me I looked like a reject from the cancer ward. :? "You have the wrong skull shape."

I was telling my barber this, and he said HIS wife was always telling him how much she liked HIS hair, and HIS goatee... But let Vin or the Rock cross the screen and she starts to swoon. Bald, both of them. He offered to shave HIS head. "Oh, no hon, you have the wrong scalp shape for that."

Boys, I think what they mean is...

We have the wrong Body for bald.

Had the same barber for 30 years (yes a true barber), he passed away so then I had to go to the big city to find a new barber. All I could find was one of those chain clip joints. The girl that was going to cut my hair looks at me and says “ you certainly have a lot of hair for a guy your age” :(

Yeah, I have a true barber as well. I never liked going to the unisex shops. Wrong kind of gossip. My old barbershop in VA, the gossip revolved around the season... Hunting, fishing, football, baseball...

Cutting my own hair past 30 years, GI standard. The current pair of $12 clippers going on 8 years. I don't care about "Bein purdy"

I buzzed my head then shaved it, once I was no longer working patrol and in uniform. I didn't care either. ;) Miss T cared. Pay the barber! :D

Last haircut I got was at Camp Pendleton in 2015. It's getting pretty long.

Hmmm, very strange. Maybe just here, but I'm seeing everyone else's avatar. Yours is just an empty box and I don't know why.

I didn't realize the subject had changed and my reply no longer made sense so I deleted it.
