Riding out the ice storm, seems like a good time to do some enabling. Getting more infatuated with this brassy 357 Magnum each time out. First photo is a five shot group, offhand from 30 yards with my incumbent plinking load:



I do put a lot of effort into good offhand shooting (want to be RanchRoper when/if I grow up), & it's a lot easier with a good trigger:

I like single shots and bolt guns as well. When I was duck hunting in the late seventies I was shooting a single shot Ithaca 12 ga and my partner would razz me about it. He was shooting a pump and would blast 3 shots at a flock and maybe hit a bird while I could get 2 shots off and collect 2 birds. I figured he was just shooting in the general direction and I was shooting at a target. He may not have shot very well but he sure could call the ducks in.
I have been contemplating a single shot 223.

Just on the Henry USA site and they have a safety warning and recall on the single shot 357s. Is yours one of the rifles being recalled?

This one was built after the changes were made. First one I had, steel receiver made in 2018, went through the recall. Came back with a much improved trigger. It now resides with my nephew.

Thats a right good looking group. Match that up with that pretty rifle and you get a winner all day long.
