After ten days or so of waiting, Tina's
Jersey/Holstien Cross cow had her calf, finally. It's a little boy calf and Tina is just glad it's here and healthy and it was born during the day, and the weather was mild. She let the mom out to wander, and she went down to the creek bank to stand, lay, and chew her cud and started to have minor contractions. Tina stayed down with her all day, as that creek bottom is a haunt for Coyotes and there are several big males that have made daytime appearances on the Game Cams that cover that area.
As it got near dusk, Tina locked Molly in her stall, and came up and got a hot cup of tea and rested. She went down to check on her, and she was bawling, and there were feet visible. Tina checked and the nose was turned down. A little adjustment and out came the babe!
