What did you do at your reloading bench today?

I'll try these in the Pietta and Henry. What about 5.0-5,5gr Red Dot in the Pietta?

Never got around to trying the 250's in the Cimarron, I know 6.5 with the 200's shot well in the Rossi and Marlin.
I will say in my initial testing of the Cimarron that 8.0 grs of Unique grouped much better than 6.0 grs RD with the 200 gr.

Did the prep work on the .45 Colt cases I emptied in the desert, now I'm going to load 6.0gr Red Dot under a 250gr rnfp coated bullet from T & B.
Forty, if you read this, I saw your reply on previous page; not sure why I didn't answer, but, I'm trying that load. Looking forward to giving these a go.

Think you will like it! Here is a .45 Colt load using Speer 230 gr. LRN I was testing for my Remington 1858 when using conversion cylinder.
The test revolver was my Ruger BH Bisley and makes a nice mess out of a paper plate from 8 yds.

Loaded up a test bunch of 44 Special using the MB 200 gr. Cowboy bullet RNFP with 5 gr. of Red Dot. These for use in my 1871 OT 44 revolver.

Randy, I don't know much about the 6.5 CM, what powder is prefered for it? Sounds like a fun project coming up.

Whoops! Forgot to mention, loaded up 20 rounds of .45 Colt with 6.0gr Red Dot/250gr rnfp bullet, coated. And 25 .45 acp with 5.0gr Red Dot/230gr LRN and 25 with 4.8gr RD, same bullet. Hopefully, desert shoot next week. Think I'll take my 1911 out this time. It's due.

Tom, my first time in this rodeo...
Seems either of the 4350's are good, but I don't have enough to amount to anything.
A local guy, hmm, 35 miles one way, had some A 4350, and the new Hodgdon manual has data for it.
So I may skip down there tomorrow and grab one.
H 4895, and Win 748 are a couple I have on hand to try.
Varget, which I've never used.

Funny thing this afternoon while zeroing the scope, I was shooting some 140 Federals.
I got a hint of the burned powder, and it had that sweet smell that I've smelled before.
I'm wanting to say it may have been LVR of the CFE, but I've not seen any data.
Need to do some digging.

I've been loading long enough that I don't exactly remember when I started.
Somewhere in the early 2000's, started with pistols the 41 mag. is what got me started, then the 44, 357 and 45 acp. After a couple years I ventured into rifles 35 Rem I believe was the first.
Now I load for every cal. I own, load a few 30-06, and load some 270's for a close friend.
But I'll say these Creedmoor bullets are the longest thing I've ever seen.

Tom I don't know about the mag primers, I haven't looked into it yet, but if so I have 1200.
The rifle is the cheap Savage Axis, I bought it second hand.

Just picked up a Might Armory universal de capping die (works on everything without any adjustments and is rock solid). De capped 200 rounds of .38 in just a few minutes.

I made a new post about the die (http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 52#p190052)

Now its time for a Jameson and watch the sunset !

Try the Harvey Deprimer= no press needed and it fits just about every caliber. There is a video showing it at work.

The difference for me is I have an automatic case loader on the Hornady and do not have to insert a cartridge one at a time. Saves a lot of time.

I do however prime one at a time with the Lee auto bench primer.

I have a RCBS universal decapping die that works on everything I load from 25-20 up.
It's set up on a separate lee single stage.

I haven't been shooting since early November, so I really don't need to reload. I still have several hundred rounds of 357s waiting their turn at the range. But like many of us, I enjoy reloading, so this morning I put up another fifty rounds.

Years ago, I settled on 13.9 grains of H110 under 158gr Zero JSP/JHPs for use in my handguns and rifle. At the time, I made a dipper (a modified 9mm case with a straightened paper clip handle) that scoops that amount much of the time. Occasionally, it's a tad more or less, but I always weigh each charge; so then I either trickle a bit more or remove a bit to get to 13.9 grains.

I have a Lee Single Stage Press. After charging the case, I visually confirm it before topping it with a bullet. Once all fifty are charged, I seat the bullets, then crimp and box them. Each round gets inspected after each step. It's simple and slow, but consistent.

Fortunately, my inventory of components is pretty good. I still have 1000 primed .357 cases on my bench and another 3K WSPM primers in the cabinet.

I really want to shoot again.
