All passes closed

Post by Oldbrass » Thu Jan 06, 2022 12:43 pm

Snoqualmie, Stevens and White pass closed. ETA to open is Saturday at the earliest. I-84 in Oregon is closed for mudslides, only open route is hiway 14 on Washington side of Columbia gorge but it's only a 2 lane road so expect gridlock.. So we're land locked 😂. We're going to store for milk and eggs while there's some left

When you need to travel, the Google Maps Traffic layer can be very educational…..orange and red highways means horrible traffic and accidents.

Hang on, we’re sending a pack of St. Bernard’s with brandy casks soon.

What a mess, glad I don’t have any travel plans pending. You’re trapped between mountains and the Pacific and we’re trapped between the Cascades and the Rockies. But as mentioned, other than the grocery store I have no plans to go anywhere.

Yes! It should stay up in the mountains where it belongs.

That slick is not a good sign, they should have paid attention to that sign.

I-5 shutdown near Chehalis, it is more than a little damp. They raised the freeway there the last time this happened, in 2007, I guess they should have gone a little higher.

Im not sure about the intelligence of the driver if he actually drove into that situation with the oil slick

There are endless pics of vehicles stranded by high water, usually they usually do not have that oil slick. My guess is that the engine hydro locked, broke a rod and and then busted the crankcase ….
