Yeah, I’ve seen it several times on TV. I just want to yell, “get that dog off that rear seat”.

Regardless, it’s a great ad, a treat in this day of commercials that only have dancing people trying to sell constipation products. Crazy.

First time it was shown on TV I kind of got a lump in my throat, I looked over at my missus cans the tears were flowing. She lost her mother on Christmas Eve years ago and her father was lost at this time of the year.

Yep that was a good one and I caught the 396 Turbo Jet emblem on the left side front fender....nice!

Watching also hit home here too in the case of my older brother who bought a new 1970 Hemicuda that he dated his now deceased wife in.
Have a picture of both of them standing in front of the cuda. He still has the car sitting in his garage covered up and hasn't run since 1975

Hey All,

Nice ad. It hit home with me fo sure. My mom had a 1966 Bel-Air station wagon with a 396 and a two barrel four barrel cut in and 3 on the tree. Car had power for days. I could smoke the tires in all 3 gears. Didn't do it too much not wanting to break something.

The 396 was one great engine. We had one in our jet boat too.

Car and boat were fun for a high schooler like me.

Merry Christmas All!!!

A PS for Hatch our boat was a Jolly Roger built in industrial park out in the valley. Ever hear of Jolly Roger?

Absolutely. They were pretty popular around here in the 70’s - 80’s. So much fun to watch on the water and that exhaust, now that was a treat!

Hey All,

I don't remember what happened to ours but it was gold diamond dust black stripe 396 Chevy Berkeley jet. We had the deck and hull to build a tri-hull at our house as well. I know my stepfather sold those pieces. My stepfather built the molds for jolly Roger boats. I worked at jolly Roger one summer but fiberglass dust was not me - too itchy. Would love to have one long as somebody else buys the gas. 29.9 a gallon was liveable back in the day.

Anyway enjoy the rest of the holiday.
