Trap and target all day !!

Post by DWD445 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 8:52 pm

Went out w/Mike to his friends back yard today. Shot trap for the 1st time and was awesome !! 25 round shoots x4 my shoulder is blue a little :P. But started off poor 6 for 25, then 14 and best was 17. I was happy and had fun. Beautiful place to shoot and I'll post a couple vids when I can. BTW all free about 3 mi from me

This phone likes to boot me off when I hit submit. So I am continuing.... Also had my Super Mags and BBS 44 w/new Skinner peep sight at 4 turns up 50yds no problem. Swinging metal targets and about 35yds w/DWs... ding.. ding !!
Shot from 1pm to 6:30 !! Beatiful range in the woods/shade. Best time shooting I can remember !! Nice log cabin house too.

It's quite easy to get hooked on trap, DWD. I just started this late summer, and like it a lot!
And your scores are better than mine so far!!

Nice "nearby back yard" range. And only three miles to get there....very cool.
Glad you had a good day and a lot of fun shooting!

Looks like a lot of fun. I've made mention on this forum that I have done some sporting clays, five stand and skeet shooting lately. I'd really like to give trap a try. I enjoy shooting the clays running away from me and not necessarily crossing directly in front with a 7 foot lead like in skeet.

Still gotta load the vids to PB and a pic of the nice bruise on my shoulder  100 rds of 12 ga will do that
We were shooting straight out and aim just under was the spot. My challenge was the plug is still in my 1300, so 3
shots and I had to reload... threw me way off usually. Did get 5 for 5 once though !!
Mike is in 1 vid when I get it, He's good, as fast as he could pump the shotgun he said pull, 5 birds in 30 sec !! :o
He didn't miss many ;) Was a beautiful day too. May do it again next week !!

DWD -- the vids were "very slow and jumpy" on my computer. At first I wondered if it was my computer internet connection, but can easily believe it is PB "holding up the show."

Go to danwessonforum and you'll see my range report there. you don't have to log in or anything. they work better there than straight off the phone !!

I've certainly had those bruises before. Last time I was at the skeet field I borrowed someone's 20 gauge. No bruise!

FWIW, DWF was down yesterday, but up today and the vids are worth seeing in a better stream. LINK
