Savage 22-250
Took the Savage to the range for the first time today. Needed to sight in the scope and didn't take long. Here's the target at 100 yards. I'm going to take it to the 200 yard range the next time out. Last four were damn good!

Nice shooting Jake is that reloads or factory ammo.

That center ring is hurting for sure. Nice shooting.

Re: Savage 22-250
I will be interested to see what you come up with for loads with the h-380. Im currently looking for a 223 and probably going to buy a Howa as a friend of mine has one and it shoots very well.Shakey Jake wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 9:54 amThat was factory ammo as I couldn't find any brass. It was Winchester VarmintX 55 gr. I've got some H380 powder and 55gr Sierra GameKing bullets to reload.

Re: Savage 22-250
I'm going to start of with 39 gr., 39.5 gr, and 40 gr. to see which shoots better. Max is 41 but if I can find a powder charge that works best of those three I'll stick to it.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 9:57 amI will be interested to see what you come up with for loads with the h-380. Re: Savage 22-250
Jake, do you have any IMR 4064 or Varget on hand? IMR 4064 works wonders with that bullet/cartridge combo. I'm getting closer to picking up a Rem 788 in 22-250, just keeping my fingers crossed. Good shooting there Jake.

Re: Savage 22-250
The only powders I could find to use are IMR 4350 (which I already had) and found this pound canister of H380 at the LGS last Thursday. It was the only one they had.

I'd say that's one fine shooting rifle. That should do you proud at 200 yds.
