I don’t watch the series but my wife is glued to it. I made that comment to her the other night even the women on there are frequent with the FBomb. Im no goody two shoes either but coming out of a woman’s mouth regularly just doesn’t do much for me

Try the HBO “Deadwood” series, after the first few episodes you sort of tune them out. They are there for a reason in that show, if they used actual nineteenth century swear words like goldurn whippersnapper, they would just sound like Yosemite Sam instead of like foul mouthed criminals. I don’t know why the Yellowstone producers insist on doing that. I have been to Montana many times, and they sure don’t talk like that in Bozeman or Kalispel.

I generally don’t have an issue with language as I’m certainly not a saint. But, I was surprised that the ranch foreman Rip uses the Fbomb when talking to the new kid on the show and I believe I have heard the kid use it too.

I second the Deadwood recommendation, we enjoyed it so much we made a trip to South Dakota to see the town. But, I will say that Deadwood paled in comparison to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and on the way in Montana the Custer’s Last Stand memorial.

I have driven by the Little Big Horn site, but never stopped to tour it. Custer was a self-centered egomaniac, despised by most of his officers and all of his men. I really don’t understand why he has a memorial at all. His sole attributes were his charisma with the press and his sometimes mindless bravery.

Well of course there were also quite a few soldiers who were also killed there. It's not really about Custer, it's about a tragedy.
Lot of Indians died there as well.

Very true, those unfortunate soldiers had to follow.... and nobody knows how many Native Americans died, since they took away their dead and wounded. It must have been many hundreds. So why did they call it the Custer Memorial? Actually that name was changed thirty years ago, unless there is another memorial to the man there..... I know there is one in Ohio.

You're correct. I watched a couple of episodes of Deadwood and decided to skip it. I saw a lot in VN and really
don't care for the violence or profanity any more. I've seen enough and just want to see happy stuff now.

Yes it’s about a tragedy. When I visited I felt an enormous sense of loss for all involved in the battle. It was very humbling and sad. There is an interpretive drive with several stops that explain the battle and how it developed. It doesn’t pull any punches regarding the mistakes made by Custer and other military leaders involved. In addition to the memorial to the US soldiers lost there is a very nice memorial to the natives who lost their lives.

The proper name for the area is: The Little Big Horn Battlefield National Monument. The name was changed to honor all who perished in the battles regardless of “side” they were part of.

Yeah, maybe. I find it hard to watch the shows that really depict violence like it really is.

My dad, (born 1920) was one mean cuss. He used some profanities but in his entire life I never heard him use an obscenity. Heck, I was 14 before I ever heard anyone actually hurl the F bomb around like it was a normal word, and that guy was a doper/hippy from the city.
I doubt many of the ranchers of Montana are mass murdering, chest branding, foul mouthed criminals as the show portrays the Yellowstone Ranch bunch.
TV always strives to coarsen our society's morals and behavior. We either put up with it or not see the show.
I don't like that smart alecky cowboy that took Jimmy off to teach him to be a cowboy, either.
In fact I can't abide him on there. Cocky bas**rd.
Beth is a total psycho. What a foul woman she is. Weird stuff on tv these days.
