First Henry arrived. 45-70 H010

Post by duderubble » Wed Oct 27, 2021 9:15 pm

Beautiful firearm, nice walnut. I fired two rounds, I'm waiting for a Sig Romeo 5 red dot. I was a little anxious about recoil (I've been a marlin 30-30 guy). It ain't no big thing. LOL. Looking forward to rifle season.

Backstory, I'd been looking for about a month. Last year we lost a deer in heavy brush so I wanted a thumper. The auction sites had them but they were going for premium prices. I happened on one on Cheaper Than Dirt late at night for $738 and clicked buy. When I looked again it was out of stock. Happened to find a local place with Leverevolution ammo for a few bucks less than the online places and no shipping.

Congrats. Yeah, that is a thumper.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Congratulations, you bought it at good price. When you're shooting at a deer, you won't even feel the recoil....much!

Congrats on your new .45-70 Henry! Those Hornady .45-70 rounds, the 325 gr., pack a good punch.

That's kinda how I got mine :-) popped up late night on Sportmsans Warehouse website and bought it immediately. Sold out within an hour.
It's my favorite rifle.
Forced me to get into reloading to ease up the kick. (+P bear loads are a shoulder bruiser)

Very Nice !

Got one too, well kinda, walked into my local Rural King yesterday and there was Henry golden boy and model H010G in .45-70 sitting in gun rack minding their business, helluva beautiful rifle, put it on layaway with 10% down for 60 days because I'm really looking for the All Weather in .45-70 but I'd be very happy with the H010G
The only government I trust is .45-70
