Punkin' Plunkin'...

Post by RanchRoper » Sun Oct 17, 2021 3:23 pm

Well not real punkin's but a little competition target for another forum I'm on. Plus some regular shooting at 50 & 100 yds.

25 yds off hand on an 8x10 sheet of paper
Pedersoli Frontier .50 rifle
50 gns Triple 7
.480 ball
.015 patch

Some 50 yds off hand work, pulling right a few times lately, working on correcting the problem....

I bought a nice little AR500 steel spinner to shoot next week. Lots of times I am the only guy there, and all winter I'm always the only guy there. Can't wait to try it at 100 yds.

How Big? Once you try that you will be hooked. I love shooting steel and those 54 cal balls really move the steel around.

Amazing, as always.

Question: do you blacken that front sight the old fashioned way with some soot, using a match?

What caliber is that spinner rated for? One good hit with that smokin lead launcher will have it spinning for a week!

Just says pistols and rifles. It’s heavy steel for sure. We’ll see how she goes.

1/4”. But the velocity at 100 yds on the round ball or even 45 Colt would be low I would think. If I destroy it, we’ll that’s fun too.
