That looks like the Spokane River near the bowl and pitcher.

That’s exactly what it is, nice job of noticing that for a guy who has been out of the area for a while. The area where the club is located has become very populated with houses and there is a constant push by the newcomers to have the club shut down. Hmmmmm it was there when you moved in so……..
Club is (I believe) around 75 years old and was way out in the country when it first opened. There is a road above the target stands that receives lots of traffic from folks traveling to the Bowl and Pitcher campground so when shooting from either 200 or 600 we are required to be on the sandbags with the scope on target before loading. This is to make sure if a shot is released while loading the bullet won’t travel towards the road.

A very scenic setting for a rifle range!
You may be "rusty" but that's good shooting.
Someone in a new residential development near an existing gun club always squawks about the noise. NH has a law that existing gun clubs have no liability for noise to an adjacent new residential area. Our club is 89 years old. To be good "neighbors" we checked out a complaint made to the town with a certified Sound Engineer and he found the noise level of cars going by the squawker's house was higher than noise from the club. Complaint dismissed!

If I remember right the clubhouse needs to be vacated when you shoot at 600.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Sat Aug 28, 2021 10:53 amThat’s exactly what it is, nice job of noticing that for a guy who has been out of the area for a while. Correct statement. Our 600 yard shooting closes down the 100, 200 and the outdoor handgun range. The club will open the indoor pistol range and not charge the normal small fee to use it while the 600 is in use. We have practice once a month for a couple of hours and four matches per year so it’s not a big impact on the other shooters. We combine us F Class shooters, Service Rifle Across the Line shooters and Black Powder Cartridge shooters who all shoot at 600 into the same match. It’s kind of strange to be shooting prone next to a BPCS guy and have your target disappear into a cloud of smoke.
Doing this helps limit the impact on the other ranges.
