H001 vs bulk ammo
Tried 4 different value pack 22's.
All shots were from 30 yds. First was offhand which I'm not very good at, 16 rds each.
Then I tried them off a rest.
Just 10 rds each.

Re: H001 vs bulk ammo
I once had a Ruger 10-22 that would spray those Thunderbolts all over the place, but became a tack driver shooting those Remington standard velocity match bullets. Plain lead, I could hit an aspirin bottle way out there. They grouped about 1 1/4" at 50 yards.
Plain old 10-22. Ammo can have an extreme effect on the performance of any .22 rifle or pistol.
The (expensive) trick is to find out which one to use.
My Henry .22 magnum rifle shoots Armscor the best. Winchesters the worst. Everything else in between.

Re: H001 vs bulk ammo
Randy since most shooting when needed would be off hand I would stick with that Winchester ammo. Remington Thunderbolt is good for....well can't think of anything but maybe revolver use plincking cans from close distance if you lucky!
Re: H001 vs bulk ammo
Ive never had much luck with any Remington 22 ammo its all just mediocre at best.

Re: H001 vs bulk ammo
I’ve had good luck with all the Remington 22’s in my Sig Misquito. The worse brand That I’ve used in it was CCI. Here’s how it works with CCI.
1. Rack slide
2. Pull trigger
3. Click
4. Rack slide again (make sure shell racks)
5. Pull trigger
6. Bang
7. Clear stove pipe
8. Rinse and repeat
I never seem to have that problem with Remington, Águila works the best
I like CCI in the rifle but terrible in pistol

If thats CCI mini mag doing that BRM that is surprising to me. They have always been clearly first class in my book.

Re: H001 vs bulk ammo
Thanks for reporting on your test/ range results Randy. As far as yours go, looks like the Winchesters have a slight edge.
Guess it goes back to whatever a particular gun likes. I tried the remaining Remingtons in my Ruger Single Ten today. At only about 10 yards they were not bad. When I pushed it out to about 25 though...lets just say, I was lucky to stay on the paper.

Re: H001 vs bulk ammo
Randy, nice reporting. My personal experience would agree with your H001 liking the Winchesters. They seem to give good results in all my 22's. I've tried the Remington Thunderbolts and Yellow Jackets and both get a thumbs down from me. BRM mentioned Aguila and I have 5 - 50 round boxes I haven't had a chance to try yet.
