Single shot 30-30

Post by Centaur » Fri Aug 13, 2021 2:46 pm

Put some rounds through the H0015 today. If is shooting point of aim at 100 yards with 170 gr bullets in front of 28 grains of 3031. Opening day for elk is nearly here, and this is going to be first up, alternating with my 45-70. Where I will be hunting, 100 yards will be a long shot, 50 yards will be more typical, so a 30-30 put in the right place should be very sufficient.

I bet a 30-30 has harvested more meat than any other caliber. Good luck.

It has for me, but it was the only CF I had for many years.
The 35 Rem is catching up fast though.
