240 gr. MB Smasher and the BBB

Post by Vaquero » Fri Aug 06, 2021 2:49 pm

After forty's report the other day I decided to try those loads in my 20" BBB and see what they looked like.
I added another load also. 9.0 & 9.5 grs. of Unique. Then the 18.5 grs. 2400, at the same distance of 40 yds. I didn't have any key holes, and just so you know I'm still learning the "cheap peep". 🤪🤣
I started at the bottom and worked up.
On the top target with the 2400 the lower right hole was the very last round, may have been operator error or a warm barrel.
Either way that's it from the back yard on a Friday afternoon.

Well looks like the 9gr load would be a good one. I bet they would be in a nice group if you had a scope on the 44.

Good, no tumblers. Kinda like that 9.0gr Unique load. Hope forty gets that issue sorted out.

Good possibility Al, and the 2400 might be interesting also.
But mine is one of the earlier models, and isn't D&T'd. ;) :o

Randy if you get a chance try slugging the barrel and see what you have. Looks like yours is shooting well.

I use 3 inch and it works better for me at the longer distances. 2 inch is hard to see at 50 with irons.

Al, with the redneck peep the 2" weren't bad, but I do agree the 3" are better even at just 50 yds. with regular Irons.
