Bore light ???
Bore light ???
Been trying some different loads in my 44 Henry. Using 200/240 grain cast bullets. To say the least I am not pleased. Starting to think the bore is leaded bad. Looking to get some type of bore light to check it out. Any good ideas where I can get one without braking my wallet..Thanks,johnny
Re: Bore light ???

Re: Bore light ???
I have been using the same bent piece of clear plastic, no batteries to fail, nor bulbs to burn out. Stick one end in the chamber, cylinder, etc...
Then turn / point the other at any light source...
Bright light where you need it.
It was about $1.50 at a gun show. Still works after all these years.

I've been using a DAC Technologies Winchester Flexible LED Bore Light ====> https://www.amazon.com/DAC-Technologies ... 255&sr=8-7 since April of 2016 .... it has performed well
Re: Bore light ???
let us know what your results are.
Re: Bore light ???
Got one from Amazon. Nothing around here..
Re: Bore light ???
Johny, have you been able to see what is going on in your bore yet.
Re: Bore light ???
Get some lead cloth and put some on a 44 jag and run it thru the bore. It will tell if the bore is leaded also.

Re: Bore light ???
I have owned and used the clear plastic one for years. It works well! I do have a battery operated flexible one as well that I picked up at Wally World. I think it was about $10.00. I have found that I like the clear plastic cheapo better though. The battery operated is really too bright.BrokenolMarine wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 6:36 pmI have been using the same bent piece of clear plastic, no batteries to fail, nor bulbs to burn out. Re: Bore light ???
I picked up several battery ones over the years, came in the swag bags at instructor classes or giveaways at firearms manufacturer's seminars. I'd end up giving them to students or fellow competitors at a match.markiver54 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 11:41 pmI have owned and used the clear plastic one for years. It works well! I have several bore lights and keep them in all our vehicles. I stop by pawn shops often, to see what they have that's just dropped off pawn. With my adjustable bore light, I can see th critical parts of the gun including the bore and action.
Not that expensive and will save you a lot of headaches

No leading, the bullets (cast) are undersized for the barrel..
