41 mag plinkin load
41 mag plinkin load
Went out to the grasslands today with some test loads. Both loads shot well but the Universal Clays load was better. The other load being 10.6 of HS-6. So far just about all of the low power loads shoot very well in my 41 Henry anyway. Here is a target shot with the Universal load at about 30 yards.
This is 8.0gr of Universal with an Xtreme 210gr FP bullet

Re: 41 mag plinkin load
Al, Universal is fast becoming one of my favorite powders. How did the X-treme bullets handle the .41 mag velocities? Probably mid loads?

Nice shootin' Al ! Yeah it works out that way sometimes with the milder loads be good groupers and fun to shoot.

Re: 41 mag plinkin load
Tom Xtremes bullets are great. Ive never had any issues with them and for the 41 and plinkin I like them alot. Most companies only offer SWC and this flatpoint feeds and shoots good. After shooting these for group I went to bustin clay pigeons on the bank. My neighbor was with me and he was amazed at the accuracy of the 41 and he liked Fortys sight insert.

Re: 41 mag plinkin load
Al, I pulled mine out this morning to shoot in between the different 38-55 loads.
Couldn't get it to group for squat, checked and the scope mount is loose.
Took a bit to figure out.
yeah little slow some days.

Re: 41 mag plinkin load
My 41 is dialed in especially with Fortys sight insert. I love shooting that gun and its the only pistol caliber levergun I have left. Im on to simple things and I like that alot.
