PJM, IMR4064 is indeed a very good powder with that Hornady 150SP Interlock. Used it for YEARS in both 30-06's. Absolutley works.

Quick question for the great minds of the forum.

Some of you saw my post on my new CZ Hammer Coach Gun. I am going to load 12 gauge brass hulls.

My question is I have never used a Black Powder Substitute like Pryodex RS, Pyrodex select, or Tripple 7 (FFFg1 ?) and was considering doing so for this platform.

What are your thoughts folks?

You will get a multitude of answers. If you are having issues finding real black and can get the substitute I would use the triple 7. But ifin it was me there would be no substitute. Real black is what I always use.

Well I loaded some more test rounds for the 38-55.
255 gr cast over 26.2, & 26.4 grs of Rel7, 5 of each.
Then 5 with some IMR 4198, hopefully try 'em out tomorrow.

Thanks PJIM, the MagTek 12 gauge brass uses a large pistol primer instead of a traditional 209 primer. (Good thing because there are no 209s anywhere like every other primer). Pyrodex is looking good.

Finished up more of those 158 gr. RNFP 357 Mag loads I tested with 6.0 of Power Pistol. Anyone try making a bushing for Small Pistol Primers to fit Large Pistol Primer brass?

Anyone have any 45 ACP small primer brass they want to get rid of? I have more Magnum Small Pistol primers than large pistol and any time I find some 45 ACP at the LGS I buy a couple boxes if it is small primer brass. Have a couple boxes of that and will shoot that first and then reload those before dipping into my large primer stash of 45 ACP.

Hey Al, putting these to a test later.
Got a good friend just south of St. Louis picked up a Henry CCH in 45 colt and said these preformed well in it.
Checked data, between 19.7 and 20.2, with a very max. of 20.8 with extreme caution.
Going to see if the Cowboy or Rossi like either.
