What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Well, not today, but last nite I finished up the batch of 100, 45/70 I was working on, cleaned off the bench. Give it a rest for a while,
or until some more brass shows up.

Love Hornady, I will have to give it a try, I have been loading 405 grain exclusively, but haven't found any buffalo to shoot !

RnG try some of those Nosler 300 grain bullets Jim uses. They shoot really good. Get them at Shooters pro shop when they have them as seconds.

Scrounged up some more brass. Back in the reloading business ( 45/70 ). Something to do when it's so hot outside. Seems like the sun is about 20 ft. above the house.

That will be a sweet load Randy! I'm getting slim on my easy shooting 45 Colt loads and will have to load some more too.

Put together some Kitty-Kat sneeze 38 Spl. loads to test in my S&W 19 with 2" barrel. I loaded a 158 gr. RNFP Missouri bullet over 3.5 gr of good ole Hodgdon Universal. I'm looking for a low recoil load that's fun to shoot in that model 19. I shot a lot of 147 gr wadcutters with 2.7 gr. of Bullseye from that gun, but I'm out of those bullets and powder.

Received 500 once shot Winchester AA-HS grey 12 ga hulls from Ballistic Products today. Look OK. I have powder and primers but I am reading about wads and trying to decide what to order. I have Lyman"s Shotshell Reloading Handbook and I and getting an education.

500 AA Hulls, that is a score. I have been looking for AA's for a while, let alone 209 primers.
Your wad size will be determined by shot size, how many ounces of shot you are dropping and how may drams of powder (and size of hull - 2 3/4 vs 3 inch, etc).

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Those were a 243 cast over 10.0grs of Unique.
Steve the fellow I bought the rifle off of is sending me some of his data.
He said he mostly shot 250 gr., at the moment all I have are some 240 and 243's.
If you have a pet load you'd like to share, I'm all ears.

Do you have any 5744? I think I have some 245 gr bullets sized 380. I shoot 5744 with those about 18 to 19 grain. But I have heard about the Unique load and I wounldnt be scared to try some Universal clays either as I got it to shoot real well in 45-70. Other than that for me with top end loads Ive used reloader 7 and that Lyman Bullet gas checked. It shoots very good in my Henry. I got those bullets from Montana Bullet works they are good people.

No 5744, I do have Rel 7.
He said either of the 4198's worked well for him. I will check Montana bullet, Thanks.
