I’m not sure I would want to shoot a 357 mag in a Bond! The 38 Special is a nice caliber for it and I’ve shot plenty through mine

I agree with this statement. Although I don't have the 38/357 Barrel, if I ever got one, I'd just stick to the 38's as well.

But, if anyone out there has one and has shot the 357 in it, let us know how it was.

I have the 357/38 barrel and have shot the ,357, first 5-8 shots it is not bad, after that it gets tough. I shoot mainly .38’s because I have real good supply of those but .357 not so much.

I've been looking for one like that for a good while now.

I've been finding out that nice clip-ons are pretty hard to find.

just got off the phone talking to the local FFL dealer that we've dealt with for decades .... he has 2 new Bond derringers right now and some extra barrels .... to bad, I don't believe they will work for us .... we plan to visit his shop ASAP after we get home and get the ball rolling

I have one they called the Century 2000 bought some years ago. It is polished stainless all over and came with fat short wooden grips. With the original grip it was a little snappish with hot loads. I put on longer glassy smooth black wooden grips that are a bit narrower and have room for all my fingers to grip the gun. The new grip made a lot of difference shooting more powerful loads.
The old Century 2000 also has a trigger that is different than the new ones. You have to roll your finger downward as you pull it or it flat won't go off. I have the original 3 1/2" 410/.45LC barrel, a 2 1/2" .45ACP barrel , and a .22 magnum barrel for it. The 410 is ok, the .45ACP is a real thumper. I never hit much with it, I need to take it out more and figure out how to get some hits.
It seemed to me the top barrel shot high while the bottom barrel was closer to POA, which makes sense if you picture the recoil having more snap up from the top barrel.
I can't really say what I bought it for, I think I just like how its made. Like the door on a bank vault.

I read an article once where the writer said these were popular 'barbecue guns' in Texas. With their nicely made belt holsters they were pretty stylish for a while. The ads for them showed a carjacker getting his from the driver's window with about 5 big buckshot heading for his neck from the driver's Bond. They called my cross draw holster a driving holster, so maybe that's one of its purposes.

One year a big ugly iguana got in my garage and wouldn't come out, ran from me and knocked over some stuff, hissed at me, hid in some boxes and became a pain in the butt. I tried baiting a trap with broccoli and carrots, nope. Knocking over rakes and gas cans, I didn't know they got that big. Not wanting to get bitten I decided to try out the derringer.
I got him with the 410 and birdshot (in the bottom barrel) from about 4 feet away. He was maybe 12 pounds and 64" long. Not very sporting but those things can rip a finger off. He should have chosen the broccoli.
My sisters were visiting in the house, one heard the shot and asked me about it. I told her it must have been a car backfiring cuz she's an animal nut. She gave me that sideways look I always get when I lie.

I have about 100 rounds of 357 and well......let’s just say I have more than 100 rounds of 38.

a week or so ago I called the fellow who owns/runs the gun shop that we've dealt with since the late '70s ... during that conversation I learned that he is a Bond dealer .... when I told him that when we got back home from Texas on April 1st, I planned to come by his place and order a Bond Rowdy with a 3" barrel chambered for 38/357, he said no problem .... a few minutes ago he called me back and said he was in the process of putting one in his vault to hold for us until we get back .. .. we now plan to drive over to his shop and pick it up April 2nd

Looks like it is well made. Probably will be a great companion for the Henry. It is nice having a rifle/carbine, revolver and pistol in the same caliber. More shooting without keeping additional calibers on hand. For me, it makes maintaining a supply simpler.

agree .... we now have a rifle, revolvers, and a derringer chambered for 38 and/or 357 ... every firearm I've purchased since moving from NC's mountains to our current home area back in the early 70's has been purchased from Jim's Gun Shop ===> http://jimsgunshopnc.com/index.html .... that includes all of them for us and for our kids ... not the least of which are all three of our Henry rifles ..... haven't sat down and figured out how many that comes to but its a bunch ..... if you checked the link you will see that he ain't much for technology but he knows his business

its my understanding that Bond is developing a derringer dedicated to 22 rimfire .... it will be built to allow for different length barrels but not for centerfire barrels .... if/when they bring it to production and if they offer it at a price range like their Rowdy, I'd certainly give it serious consideration

one of the unique things about Bond derringers is barrels for all 16 calibers they offer can be easily switched from one grip to another .... the 38/357 ammo for the one we have purchased takes small pistol primers .... my plan is to purchase a second barrel chambered for 44 Spl which takes large pistol primers .... during times when primers tend to be scarce, it would be handy to be able to use both sizes

must say I continue to be impressed with Bond Arms .... I checked a few websites of their major dealers and none listed having a 3" 44 spl barrel set in stock .... called the fellow who conducted our tour and asked him for a recommendation .... he was at home sick with bronchitis, would do some checking and call me back .... when he called back I learned that they have no uncommitted barrels at the factory .... in fact, orders for them coming in today will not be shipped for 17 weeks .... he found that yesterday afternoon they shipped two to a dealer in Arkansas so he called them .... their shipment is scheduled to arrive on Saturday .... he reserved on in our name and arranged for one of their folks to call us and then called us to let us know .... during this time we were out in our truck .... withing minutes my wife was on the phone with a fellow at Buck Snort Outfitters giving him billing and shipping info .... it will leave their place on Monday and should arrive at our place on Wednesday or Thursday .... with us due back home Thursday afternoon and to pickup the derringer on Friday, it couldn't have worked out any better

I have a .22 magnum barrel for mine. Don't they make a .22 LR barrel?
