I just watched a few videos on the 631 and think I might like it. My GAMO shoots at twice the speed of that CZ. The Tomcat really slams forward and cocking it isn’t easy although that’s not my biggest problem with it. Since it’s for rabbit control I don’t shoot it that much. We found an even lighter shooting springer in a vintage CZ/Slavia 631 Lux 177 cal on an online auction. Paid $60 for it and it soots great.

Yeah, there was a time when low powered springers were very popular in target shooting competition. Some of them, like the FWBs, had recoil reduction systems and the works. I think some of those vintage FWB springers still hold some records. This was all before PCPs basically took over the shooting sports. Interestingly, FWB was one of the first to ditch the springer platform and go all out on PCP.
