A little unplanned upgrade this morning. Site is working ok it seems.
Pulled the trigger
Pulled the trigger
I’ve had a Single Shot on order with my lgs since October. I finally took delivery after he called Henry and asked about it. The distributor got one to him pronto.
I could not be more please with the fit and finish as well as the look of the walnut in the stock. Highly pleased with it. As soon as I can round up some .38Special and .357 I’ll be seeing how it shoots. After 3 rotator cuff repairs I’ve decided to move to this from my 870 20ga slug gun for deer. I’ve been lurking here since I ordered the gun last year and am happy to be part of the forum.

Hey Achigan. Welcome from Nebraska. I think you picked the perfect, easy, deer rifle. I’ve taken a couple with my 357 steel carbine. The single will be a joy to shoot. Enjoy your Henry, and time with us on the forum.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Re: Pulled the trigger
Congrats on getting your SS .357 and a big Va. welcome too!
Re: Pulled the trigger
I predict you'll love shooting that new rifle. They're well balanced, just heavy enough to hold steady (but not too heavy), and the post-recall triggers are quite good.
Re: Pulled the trigger
Welcome to the forum, wolfman & congrats on your new Henry. I'm very familiar with the rotator cuff thing. Pain in the butt.
BTW, like that avatar, I've seen that movie dozens of times. Don't make 'em like they used too.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Re: Pulled the trigger
I've been searching for the 223/556 version for a few months. I thought that I'd found one a month ago but it turned out to be a scam. Luckily nothing was lost and the transaction was terminated in the nick of time. I stopped in my local FFL and told them what had happened. They suggested that i contact Henry Customer Service. I sent Henry an email on the 27th of January and picked it up on 3 February. Carefully checked it out and found the "dimple" on the trigger guard. Great service!

Re: Pulled the trigger
I've put my Henry to use this deer season. The Hornady Leverevolution 140 gn. rounds group well and are all I need for whitetail deer. The button buck I took opening day went only 30 yards after the round went through the front of the near shoulder hitting the heart and passing throughout the far lung.
The big doe I took tonight made it about 50 yards with a shattered heart before piling up.
Both were 25-30 yards away when I shot. In the small woods I hunt I certainly don't need anything more..
Perfectly pleased with my gun.
