Off to the range today with the 1885 High Wall in 45 Colt. Shooting 250 gr LFN with 7.0 gn of Universal. A little breezy at times, temperature 50F today. The ejection issue seems to be resolving itself, most of them dropped out today. Doesn't affect the shooting though, great fun.

Shooting from 1 knee as I often do, must have been a buffalo hunter in another life, I prefer this position over anything else. That guy was always my favorite plastic green army man too, mostly cuz he didn't fall over all the time.

100 yds, with my little flip up tang sight I am slowly getting used to. This is a 5" target, checking with binoculars as I go. I find that 100 yds seems to be the magic line for either buckhorns or tang sight. Under 100 the buckhorns are in the way of the tang, over 100 I'm not hitting anything with buckhorns. Still experimenting. Anyhow, gun shoots great!

Next out to 200 yds, same position and raised up my tang a twist or two...not as tight on a 12" target

painful .... yep a truly painful thought .... with one knee already replaced and the other not far from it, just the thought of getting down on one knee to shoot or most anything else .... good shooting indeed ..

Thanks all, I would not have believed how that little tang sight can put me on paper 100+ yards. Funny how that works with the eye. Guess that's why you guys like those Skinner peeps.
