Have been looking around for a nice S&W 25- something in .45 Colt. Had to be in good condition....have correct sized cylinder throats to shoot cast .452 sized bullets that I use for my other .45 Colt guns and be of an older vintage.
I selected a Model 25-7 .45 Colt and one of about 2000 made this way by S&W in 1989. These revolvers have a good rep. of being nice shooters with correct cylinder size. They were made with the non-fluted cylinder..a matte finish and 5 inch barrel. More of a great accurate shooter than a glossy blue safe piece.
It fit my budget and needs. Check is in the mail!

I had a 45acp version I used for ppc for a season, moon clips made both speedloads and picking up brass a breeze. It was an accurate gun, and I was able to do well with it, but shooting two full revolver matches, plus the semi class and backup gun class exhausted me. I sold the model 25 to an new shooter and he loved it as well.

Nice shooter Forty. I have 2 of the 25-5 one nickel and one blue. I gave both of them to my wifes children. Im just not much of a 45 colt guy. 41 mag is king at my house and always will be.

Nice looking revolver and I agree with Ernie that the stocks look great. Nothing wrong with a matte finish, sometimes that beautiful deep blue finish can be bothersome. Kinda like a M/27 vrs a M/28 Smith & Wesson.

Very nice and thanks for posting yours! Can't wait for mine to arrive! I have read that the front sight might not be tall enough causing the revolver to shoot high. How does yours shoot and what loads does it like? I have a variety of my loads to try one which is 250 gr RNFP with 6 gr. of Red Dot.

Been a while since I shot it but I don't remember a front sight issue. Some guys do run into that trying to make 300gr. bear loads and heavy bullets shoot high.
Never tried to magnumize this one , I've got single actions for that.
Mine liked cast with average pistol powders . Used a lot of Herco ,Unique and it even liked CFE pistol.
