The "0" ring can be replaced if it's too tight. A call to Henry would probably get you one in the next mail, or a trip to the hardware store would probably get you one too. Don't suffer with that it's a pretty easy fix. You might even be able to trim is slightly with your pocket knife while you are waiting. Go slow & easy with this though.

I have the same problem , with my 357 Carbine I can see with cold fingers in the winter here in Saskatchewan as not being all that much fun especially hunting

But I love the darn thing and a royal pain in the ### to get it sent to the USA for repair

I may have to live with it ,but it is very tough to open or close

The tube is bottoming out. I used a dowel rod to hold the follower back and filed a little off the brass tube till it fit with just o-ring tension.

Steve's solution sounds like a good one, but I'd call Henry CS first. They may just replace the tube. One thing that's certain, they will make it right. If it ever needs to be returned to HRAC for work, they have an extraordinary, quick turn-around record and they pay for shipping both ways.

The problem is the Border ,several agencies need to look inspect etc ,then its time as much as two month turn around and cost

I finally found the problem with my feeding tube ,,,,It was the O ring playing with Iron most of my life I have about 6 boxes of assorted O-rings to match up the one on my tube

I changed the Oring to a smaller one in thickness and it is snug but not tight ,and no shipping hassles
