What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Some good lookin bullets there 220, I have a Lyman 300 gr mold, but with my mix they usually come out between 317, and 322.
What powder do you use with those?

Will probably load them with the Aussie made AR2205 (H4227) know a few people reporting good results on game with the combination at around 1500fps.

What COL will you seat the bullet to? Maybe load a couple dummy rounds to see how they cycle. So far a 1.623 will run in my .44 BBS carbine.

That is the question, I havent loaded any to check function, I am hopping they feed OK given the size of the meplat and the crimp groove nearest the nose gives a workable COL.
Was going to load a few yesterday to test out feeding but when I visited the reloading cupboard it is that long since I loaded for a 44mag I didnt have any large magnum primers in stock.

A lot of the Hodgdon powders were or are repacked Australian made ADI Powders or ADI powders made under licence in Canada, Clays, International, Universal, H4227, H4198, H322, Benchmark, H4895, Varget, H4350, H4831SC, H1000, Retumbo & H50BMG Trailboss are all aussie powders
There are a few more that never got picked up by Hodgdon and ADI is in the process of discontinuing all their pistol powders in Aus and replacing them with new powders.
AR2205/H4227 is still made is Aus so not sure why Hodgdon no longer list it.

Well my bullets just arrived and glad I'm not the mailman. Heard a plunk on front porch and Buster went off. Looked out and big box sitting there in all it's 50.8 lbs. Mailman had to carry it from his Jeep up the driveway and on porch....ouch!

The plant they are manufactured in was a WWII era facility, it has been upgraded over the past few decades to meet modern standards. The change means a new manufacturing process and transitioning from double to single based pistol powders.
I love varget as well use it in a heap of cals, fantastic accuracy, have shot groups under 1" with it at 300y with my 220swift and 240wby. 30/30 and 45/70 will both shoot under 1" at 100 using it.
Sporting powders are a sideline for the facility its primary function is production for the Aus military, everything from small arms propellants to rocket motors and explosives.

Yeah Alliant is probably the most easily sourced powder after the ADI powders.

Lol, I have 1500 bullets coming, so it'll have some weight also.
He's used to it though, half the time he'll ask if it something for the 41.

Loading up the MB 250 gr. RNFP bullets for Colt 45 with 8.5 gr. of Unique today.

Not much at the bench for a while unless I really need to load something. Conserving standard large and small pistol primers and have plenty of ammo loaded for occasional plinking and plenty for SD uses.
