BBS > Side Gate
On another forum, a member wrote to Henry about the BBS and his preferences, including a side gate.
Mr Imperato personally replied and said you may see what you want in the next few months.
Has anyone here heard anything similar ?

Re: BBS > Side Gate
If Anthony said it, then it will probably happen. I, personally, do not desire a side gate but it will be interesting to see if Henry decides to offer it on the steel version.

Re: BBS > Side Gate
while I don't have a burning desire to purchase another rifle, I'd sure take a close look at any new releases from Henry
Re: BBS > Side Gate
If they would only put a 24" octagon barrel on them. One in 45 colt would be in my safe.

At my house I have been thinning the herd. I dont see me buying anymore guns. I have more than I can carry with both hands now.

Re: BBS > Side Gate
Yep Henry will make it now since I just bought a new .45 Colt Carbine minus side gate!
Re: BBS > Side Gate
I would be very interested in looking at a side gate.
Re: BBS > Side Gate
I am new to lever guns. I bought the x model because it has a side gate. If I did not want a side gate I would have bought a different model that would have been easier to find.
I do like the x,357.

Re: BBS > Side Gate
Lever guns are like Lay's potato chips. It hard just to have one. A second comes along just as a backup or just because (because I did not have this one

Re: BBS > Side Gate
Myself- I'd love to see the side loading gate. The X's don't appeal to me a whole lot. Love to have a BBS with a side gate on the 357's, 44's & 45 colts
Re: BBS > Side Gate
I really like the side gate. No need to reload the tube. Quick and easy. Smooth

Re: BBS > Side Gate
If all I'm going to do anymore is target shooting, then I have no need for a side gate. Heck, even if I was hunting, if I haven't gotten my quarry after a full tube, then I might as well go home. JMO
I think the side gate is just traditional...again, JMO.

Re: BBS > Side Gate
I don't think I have ever had more than 5 rounds in any of my center fire levers but I like the idea of a side gate. I think Henry side gates are the best of both worlds.

Re: BBS > Side Gate
Yea, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them. I just don't yearn to own one enough to spend the money.

Re: BBS > Side Gate
In a practical sense, since we here in Ohio are only allowed three cartridges in our rifles for deer hunting which prove to be more then enough in any given hunting scenario then either the tube fed or the side gate is of no great concern and both are liked at the shooting bench. Pros and cons to each.
