What if anything have you tried?

Here are some wild and crazy ideas... none from a gunsmith or even from someone who is mechanically inclined.

You said it has lateral movement, but not vertical; can you get a pair of needle nose pliers around it at either end to grab it and pull? Is it possible to get a strand of dental floss or wire under and up the other side to pull on it, maybe using a curved sewing needle? You might also consider crushing the center of the brass case with a screwdriver and hammer to make the cartridge shorter and possibly free it up (don't think it would ignite the powder), you might even use a small chisel to chip off a bit of the lead bullet to make it shorter.

Just trying to help. It is an unusual situation. Good luck.

CT_Shooter you had a winner, I used a length of fishing micro filament wiggled it around the shell, pulled up on it and on lever at same time and it moved a little. Did that 5 or 6 times and lifter released and lifter and bullet dropped all the way to the tube and I tilted the bullet all the way out :o

Thanks for the help, this forum is the best.

Off to the range tomorrow, as John Wayne said “God willing and the creek don’t rise”

Uberti and I showed up at the range had a half of box of old BH .45 Colt 250 GR. RNFP shells, thought I’d use em up.

If that is the ladder sight, I hear ya. It's challenging. Looks like a good day.

First time using the ladder sight, it was a new experience for sure.

With mine I shoot 50 yds with the ladder down and just the regular rear notch. 100 yds is ladder up and leave the slider at the base if no wind, and up a little if it's breezy. I have hit the 200 yd board and got on a 12" target but it ain't pretty....The graduated scale out to 500+ yds....that wold be a stretch for sure. Rainbow trajectory.
