May 9th, 1860...50yd shootin'

Post by RanchRoper » Sat May 09, 2020 7:45 pm

Ok, it was a rainy day on and off, so I went shooting...my Henry 1860, 45 Colt. 200 gr LRNFP with 7.0 gn of Universal. Very slight breeze. Open sights, shooting from 1 knee at 50 yds on both targets. I had an objective today:

1) shoot some bullseyes, and see if I could put a ring around them
2) shoot a vertical line and a horizontal line that crossed in the middle

#2 was tough. Not much of a pattern unless I told you what I was trying to do....try it some time! Fun though... :D

Hope you enjoy the targets.

*25 rounds on each target

I have to change it up once in awhile, really would like to shoot steel at our range but not allowed. Guess they don't want anyone to shoot their eye out. I do however have an old frying pan that I will keep in the truck for when I am there alone and hang it on the 250 yd board when the 1885 single shot shows up. :)

Great job on that last target RR ! Would make a great Western style clock face!
Sneak out to that range in the early hours and setup some steel and have a ball!
