Evening tea in the Henry mug. Tomorrow do some things around home, then spend the weekend moving cattle. Rain in the forecast but that's the way it goes.

Update: thunderstorm warnings here with potential for large hail, high winds, and tornadoes. Saturday is supposed to rain all day; I'm ok moving cows in rain, but the other stuff can go away anytime...

Trailer is hooked up, everything ready. Slicker tied on saddle, and my little thermos is all set for hot tea in the morning to put in my little saddle bag. Temps are supposed to be about 60F all weekend.

Something different tonight, something that I haven't drank for a long time, Rolling Rock, extra pale beer. It's been around since 1939 and was made in Latrobe Pa. until they were bought out by Anheuser-Bush. This is their famous "Pony Bottle," 7 ounces of a rather light tasting beer that I really like. To me it is still not the same as when it was brewed in Latrobe, but I really like the 7 ounce bottles because unless I am really thirsty, that is just right for me. The case of 24 bottles comes in 3, 8 packs. I always think that it is better in the bottle and these little guys are easy to store in the fridge or closet. I just like to switch beers from time to time. It also comes in 12 ounce bottles and cans.

Just having one Rolling Rock tonight. Have to spend about four hours on interstate 81 and 78 tomorrow. With the temperatures hovering around 96* I plan to take a cooler with bottles of water on ice. I have been in too many traffic tie-ups due to accidents and construction through the years and it will be no day to be sitting in a line of traffic with nothing to drink. Probably pack some food too, you never know..............

Just Diet Pepsi tonight, and watching the game on FS1 between the St.Louis Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds. Not really a fan of either but I will watch any teams whenever I can. I just love the game!

I'm buying. I just invented a new martini. The "Dirty Dill". A dirty martini is one that the olive juice is added to the drink. I was enjoying a dill pickle and said what the heck. I put some dill juice in over ice and added the vermouth, vodka and a pickle piece on a toothpick. A Dirty Dill. It's great.

I love Dill pickles; and I sip it's brine like wine. It can only get better with a few spirits. Very cool.

Just a word of caution, not too much brine. Keep it like the dirty martini olive juice. A little goes a long way. Last nights was a bit too much as I didn't know how much. It's about the same for me as the olive juice. The pickle on a stick (toothpick) just like an olive was "IT".

Evening all. Tonight I decided to have some scotch. I haven't had any in a while and tonight is as good a time as any. Sipping on some Oban, 14yr, single malt. I really like this scotch. So CHEERS!

JWC, what scotch are you drinking? Me, I'm sipping some Canadian Club and reflecting on my weekend of filling a dumpster all by myself. It's full and I'm exhausted. I guess that's the way it's supposed to be. I lift my glass and salute you all. I hope you had a good day.
