July 1st BB45C at the range

Finally got to the range! Very windy again. 50mph cross wind. You can see the effect on the 50 yd target. Too many to the left. Shot a combo of Hornady and American Eagle. For the hell of it I put last 5 rounds on 100 yd target. All shots off hand standing with factory sights of course. Fun night!

A 50 mph crosswind is for sure not wimpy! Very good off hand shooting.
And especially so at the 50 yard range. With the POIs in that 12" bull, you'll easily stop the critter in his tracks.
The 25-yard target shows you're getting a good handle on rapid fire, too...way to go!

25 yards off hand is right in there and the 50 yards isn't bad at all. And, at least you hit the target at 100 yards. You are doing really well with your new rifle. I would not want to shoot at all with a 50 mph wind!

It was not too windy at home but once I got to the range it was really blowing steady. Of course there's no wind at all now that I'm home. I had fun though. I have not shot for over 2 weeks, so it was time to let some lead fly!!

Actually I do. The rear sight is on the 2nd from bottom at 25 yds, up 1 at 50 yds and 2nd from top at 100 yds. If no wind, at 100 yds I can usually get on the paper. Tonight was a few wild ones at 100 yds.

You bet, still all original. I actually really like the factory sights. They took some getting used to but so far I am doing ok with them.

I only ask because you could likely close those groups in a bit with the right sight from skinner. Andy's pretty busy, but I bet he could recommend something that would make you even better.

When I get some time to shoot, I'm going to look into a few options at his place. The Henry sights are fine. The skinner sights will be finer. Just need the time.

I expect that's true from what I've heard on the forum here. I kinda like the looks of the brass one he has, but I really hate to mess with the original look of the rifle...might not make sense to some, but I have been wearing the same set of spurs for 40 years so change isn't really my thing...who knows maybe one day.
