I upgraded the Big Boy 357 with fiber optics

Post by retAFShooter » Mon Jun 27, 2016 7:47 pm

I just upgraded my Henry Big Boy .357 to a set of TruGlo Fiber Optic sights. These are the TruGlo set that they sell for the Ruger 10/22 on Amazon.com. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000K ... UTF8&psc=1

They went on pretty easily in the rear, but had to do some extra taps on the front. They are real snug upfront. This video was shot after I got it zeroed in, which wasn't too tough. I think I shot one magazine (7) to get it in.

Those first two shot in the same hole were really nice!

Interesting set up with the fiber optic. I have considered using a fiber optic front sight with the Skinner Peep on my Rossi .357. I just can't pick up that brass front sight very well any more.

Thanks for sharing, love seeing the BB357 in action.

I wimped out and put a holographic red dot on my BB .357. It works well for both me, and Clovispup as well.

The stock semi buckhorn just wasn't cutting it with my eyes.

Fiber optic sights really wake these Henry rifles up. I have front fiber optic and a skinner express rear on my big boy steel 44 mag and it has made my shooting really improve allot. By the way, really like your youtube channel. You videos are fun to watch.

retAFShooter, Do you just line-up the three dots and place the center on point of impact?

Yep nice shooting - I really liked that dead center shot! What were you using to get the closeup on the target?

Yes Steve, That's about what I do. Sometimes I need to move the center just below the POI, depending on the ammo.

The live realtime target camera is a Samsung I bought on Amazon. It has a 52x zoom. It is real good at 25 yards, pretty good at 50 yards, and just ok at 100 yards. That last zoom in clip is from an iPhone pic I took when I went out the change the target.

Thanks retAFShooter, When I am able to test the sight good that I have on the BB 45 I may wind up with the fiber optics like you have. I'm starting to lean towards the fiber optic, same model you have.

Really like how those sights look. haven't taken my new rifle out yet but the front bead sight concerns me. Was tough to pick up in the store.
