Getting the swing of it with the 1873 Winchester

Brought out my Uberti/Winchester 1873 rifle and tried my luck with an old swinging target I built some years ago.
A nice challenge to try and hit that thing with those buckhorn sights and the sun coming at you but my friend Richard and I had fun with it!

He brought along his Henry Big Boy and also tried some of those hot 180 Pug loads and he liked them while hitting those targets hard!
I also brought along my Hi Point .45 carbine and the EoTech sight helped a lot in getting on the target quickly.

Didn't get it on video but my ,357 Big Boy scored many more hits on the swinging target and the 3 inch than the 1873 did.
Sweet shooter that .357 rifle is!

Getting these videos, 4 of them, uploaded was the greatest challenge having editing issue with my GoPro camera so I have to post
them as separate links. The quality lately after upload of my videos is not the best. They look much sharper on the computer before going on YouTube.

Yes we had trouble keeping that little 3 inch, I kept calling it the "medallion" target, on the hook and Richard hit it one time with his .357 BB
and it took off on a hard right turn and took us 30 minutes to find in the woods!!

Nice goin Forty. That Hi Point looks like fun. I know I sure have fun with the Ruger PC carbines. Hittin that small plate is a challenge.

Yeah we had a great time and it had been a good while since my buddy had a chance to get out and shoot.
Weather was fantastic but with all the rain lately things are a bit soggy down there.

Going make a couple of improvements on that swinging target to ease the setup and function and to keep the swinging plate from getting
knock back and sliding down. Also it's bolt and nut time for the little 3 inch target. Notice how Richard was finding those weak points
with his Henry! One time he shot the head off a bolt that held up one of my plates...he's tuff on your targets!!

As I mentioned I took a break from the video and tried my luck with my .357 Big Boy and was more successful in hitting the swinging plate and the 3 incher. It cycles much smoother the my 1873 and with the modified rear sight I can get on target faster.

Will run these targets again soon with my Big Boy! Now the Hi Point didn't do bad either with that EoTech sight!

Oh and I did take some shots at the swinger with my Ruger .45 Colt Vaquero and did score a couple of hits!

The trail cams are Primos and they are good cameras with great video pictures. Have had good luck with them lasting couple years or so.
You can sometimes catch them on sale like I did for $49.95 ! Battery life is real good also.
