CZ rifles~~~

Post by Catherine » Sat Jun 11, 2016 4:56 am

The CZ Lux 455 (22lr) came in at our gun store up in Ronan.

A few more of our firearms sold. We use the full in store credit with our FFL dealer consignments.

We picked up that CZ rifle above, a couple of other things and my husband special ordered a CZ Lux 527 (.223 Remington).

We got home after going to my doctor for my treatment earlier in the day, looking at knives in town, a few other errands, a trip to Ronan and a very QUICK trip to our range before the sun set on Friday night. Oh yes, we looked at some real estate before we went to Ronan S&W Store too.

I am whipped - tired but I can't sleep right now.

The CZ LUX 455 shot like a champ but we only shot about 20 rounds due to the daylight left. We used my Federal Auto Match and we only took one gun to the range due to the time. My husband did not have time to shoot his daily carry gun but he will make up for that as always. He shoots his carry gun/guns on a regular basis to keep up his skills. I used to do the same thing when I owned and carried a handgun on a regular basis too.

Plus when we were discussing guns and so forth... he said that we he retires within a year... he plans on maybe (?) competing again even though he thought that he might not do this. He can't now due to his hectic 24/7 work schedule. Now, he wants to split his time up with that, our camping, fishing and his hunting. Plus we like to hike and IF my bum leg, etc. gets better with or without me using a cane... I still plan on walking/hiking. I LOVE to swim and I am still a good swimmer even if my one leg may still be weak.

When the .223 comes in.. I will report on that. He was talking about some .223 loads for both of us to use with what I got for him over the last few years. He reloads and has for over 40 years. I do not reload or hand load. Plus I will report some more on the Scout and the Lux 455.

Have a good Saturday!

PS:

My husband still shoots his one and only Remington bolt action rifle in .223 Remington. It has a heavier barrel and it has a scope on it.

The special order CZ .223 rifle will not have a scope on it. The sights look good on it and we saw and handled one in he same model but in another caliber on Friday evening.

Cate, that sounds great. You are lucky to find CZ rifles. I don't see any at my local shops. It sounds like you had a pretty full day. I have plans to hike and climb with my fiance soon. I don't like climbing, but I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the update on what you are doing.

CZ packs a lot of quality into their firearms.

You won't be disappointed with the CZ. They are far more accurate than my Henrys but not as much fun to shoot. Hope your legs with feeling better. I do a lot of hiking myself and would miss it. Feel free to post pictures whenever you hike.

Dang, I lost my long post here. Sigh.

My husband and I went to the range on Saturday evening and we had a good time. It was windy in the canyon and I dressed for cooler weather. We took our hot coffee with us. We shot at another part of our range since the one section that I usually shoot at was set up for Sunday shooting events. He works on Sundays.

We shot the CZ Scout, the CZ Lux 455 and he shot his Glock in 9mm.

We used my Federal Auto Match in 22lr.

He used factory ammo in my bulk buy (Store credit.) when we sold some of our former firearms. FMJ - 115 grain for 9mm plinking, All brass cased. Federal and Winchester. We are using that little bit up before he uses his other Federal factory ammo and reloads with his HP and FMJ reloading bullets.

The CZ 22lr rifles are sweet, tack driving rifles! We are very, very happy with them.

The GLOCK Model 19 shot perfectly as always.

My husband and I were grinning at our targets.

We got home and watched our copy of TRUE GRIT with John Wayne. Great movie! We have the newer copy of TRUE GRIT too.

My husband's CZ Lux 527 rifle (.223 Remington.) came in to our store in Ronan and he picked it up.

I got to shoot it with him on Saturday evening for a brief time. We did not have a lot of time to spend at our range though. It is a well made, beautiful gun and another tack driver.

I shot some factory rounds that were given to us from our FFL man in American Eagle - 55grain, FMJ, boat tail and some hand loads that my husband made up. His were in a 62 grain but I don't remember the other stuff that he told me about them. Sorry.

We did not take any pictures at our range. You can look at the rifle on the CZ - USA website.

Take care.

My husband is on vacation this week and we have been taking some day trips.

On Wednesday evening, we went to our range and shot the Lux 455 (22lr) and the CZ in .223.

Those babies are TACK drivers and I am getting used to shooting bolt actions more. We were not there for a long time due to my leg issues but I did walk down range several times not using my cane.

I think that we may shoot with some friends on Saturday evening if our schedules work out too.
