What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Resizing another 100 32-20 cases into 25-20.
I'm goingbto keep the Remington 86 grain Core-Lokt ammo I have keep in reserve the 180, 25-20 cases I have and concentrate on using the much more available 32-20 cases.
There is a few .001's difference between the two and necessitates an adjustment of sizing and expanding dies.
$25 per hundred 32-20 cases locally or shipped from Midway. $90 per 50 cartridges locally. Can't buy ammo on internet in Cali. $60 to $70 per 50 listed though.

I loaded, for the first time, 10 rounds of LEVERevolution 225 gr with 8.0 gr of AA#5. My test dummy round for setting up the seat/crimp die was 1.60". All 10 others were slightly longer at 1.611 to 1.612. they all cycled.
I'll find out how well they shoot Thursday I hope.

That one there is 19.3 grs 2400 with a Keith style 250 gr.
OAL 1.635, that's the longest my BBB will cycle reliably.

This morning loaded 25 44's, some more of the 250's.
Using the 2400, loaded 5 each, starting at 19.2, 19.3, 19.4, 19.5, 19.6.
Also sized and primed 50 something more 44's, I finished the shelve of primers.

Was gonna try 'em today, but ended up going to help a friend and I'm just getting back,
and it's cooling off quick. So I'm going to be a fair weather shooter, and tomorrow is another day.

I ordered 100 45 Colt cases by Starline and 500 Missouri Bullet Co 250gr RNFP coated bullets.

Decapping and cleaning .357 brass today and then load them up with the golden 180 MB bullets.

Wow, did I ever have fun loading the .44mag this weekend. I have never loaded straight walled pistol calibers, so this was a learning experience for me. I bought a 3 die set of Redding carbide dies, some XTP bullets, CCI-350 primers, and H110 powder.

I started with making a dummy round for a pilot round. Great success! COL is exactly 1.600". Great crimp as well. So, I guess I set up the dies ok;-) I used this to check the rifle to see how it cycled. It was perfect!

So I started in on the batch of 200 cases. The only thing slowing me down is the combo die (seating/crimping die). Setting this die up for seating and then resetting it up for crimping is a major pain in the a$$. So, half way through, I went on-line and ordered a Lee factory roll crimping die. That should speed things up.

I decided to try 23.5gr of powder. I even bought the pilot for my AMP annealer. So I can anneal the cases after a few firings.

I got my Lee factory roll crimp die today. I gave up in frustration after only 15 rounds (having to re-set the seating/crimping die for each operation). So now I'll set up the last 2 dies and be off and running. Hopefully, I'll finish today or tomorrow.

I decided not to use Campro bullets. A few have chimed in that they tend to disintegrate at higher velocities and pattern like shot. I know the XTP's are expensive. But, if you're me, you go big or go home.

I must agree that doing this on my Co-Ax is time consuming. But this is my first crack at straight walled pistol case reloading. I'm learning and having a ton of fun. And success, I might add. Here's some of tonight's progress...

I must say that when I saw that the H110 was small ball powder, I was a bit disappointed. After cursing BLC-2 because of the very fine nature of that powder, I was pleasantly surprised that the H110 meters very well. And it doesn't stick to things like BLC-2.

So, I loaded a hundred rounds with 23.5gr of H110. We'll see this weekend how they perform and check their speed.

Other than .45-70 all my loading is straight walled handgun calibers from .38 thru .45 Colt.
It is much better than having to settle for what you find on the shelf at the gun shops.

For some fun blowing up small targets,like little pumpkins, try some of those Hornandy 180 gr. XTP bullets loaded with 24.5 gr of Alliant 2400
powder for .44 Magnum! Around 1980-2000 FPS out of Henry .44 Carbine.

I spent some time attempting to remove bullets from some slightly overloaded cases. I've had a hundred rounds loaded for a year. They are loaded above the 'max' load for my rifle. I bought the 'grip n pull' plier. It does not have the grip to remove using my Lee press.

After struggling for a while, I thought I would use my kinetic hammer. What a pain in the buttocks.

I am seriously tempted to just shoot them. It is a load of 15 grns of 2400. About .7 grns above max. Yeah, I had a brain fart when I read the load for 125. I shoot 158.

Anybody been here? I will reload them if I have to.

Actually I ended up taking my bench anvil out to the patio concrete slab with a comfy chair and using my kinetic bullet puller I knocked out a couple dozen mistakes of various calibers.
Hand did hurt after.
