BTW, did your son use decking screws? Our wood deck was built with nails, and as it has aged the sticking-out nails are becoming a prob.

That is a great looking bench.
I almost built a decent shooting bench a few years ago, but after pondering it for awhile and realizing I already have enough obstacles to mow around, and that I'd only use it occasionally - like maybe once or twice a year - I decided not to. Most of my regular practice sessions are defensive handgun anyway, usually on the move and/or various positions, and I don't reload so no need to work up various loads for rifle or pistol.
Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes is rapidly becoming a reality (11/2023). Para Bellum.
