My son built this for our home range. A little overkill for some. Works great. Needed a forklift to put in truck. Good thing he owns his own lumber company,! Right now under foot of snow.

Tell him he should sell plans for at his yard.

Looks nicely solid; better a little "overkill" to keep it together since it sits outside. Thumbs up! I like it.

BTW, did your son use decking screws? Our wood deck was built with nails, and as it has aged the sticking-out nails are becoming a prob.

Looks great, and sturdy! If not treated though, definitely throw a tarp over it. Should last for years!...I like it...☺

That is a great looking bench. I almost built a decent shooting bench a few years ago, but after pondering it for awhile and realizing I already have enough obstacles to mow around, and that I'd only use it occasionally - like maybe once or twice a year - I decided not to. Most of my regular practice sessions are defensive handgun anyway, usually on the move and/or various positions, and I don't reload so no need to work up various loads for rifle or pistol.
