Update: Henry Wisconsin fixed my rifle..!!!

Post by Rugerfanboy » Sat Jun 18, 2016 6:31 pm

As some may or may not know, my Henry Big Boy Steel 44 Magnum, the outer magazine tube had cracked. :o I called and had a return label shipped to me and off my rifle went (that was a sad day for me  ). I've only had the rifle for a short time and only had put a small amount of ammo threw the rifle. Last week I called Henry Wisconsin about when the rifle was going to be shipped. I wanted to make sure I was going to be around when it was dropped off since I had to sign for it. Me and Henry Wisconsin customer service exchanged some info and this past Friday, got a voice mail that my rifle had shipped. I checked the tracking info and it looks like I'm gonna get my rifle back this coming Monday (woohoo...!!! :D  ). I'm so looking forward to getting my rifle back and spending allot of range time with it. I have a long vacation coming in July and I plan to put this rifle threw it paces.

I just hope (with my fingers crossed) that Henry has installed a outer magazine tube that has been properly heat treated. If the new outer magazine tube cracks, I'll send it back and let them replace it again. Am I mad, maybe a little, just because I had to deal with the issue at hand, but not with Henry. There customer service was "Top Notch" in my opinion. You couldn't ask for better service from a company like Henry. All in all, I've been happy to the extent that I'm in the process of purchasing another Big Boy Steel 44 Magnum for my father to have for Christmas. This rifle will be his deer rifle for many years to come. Here is the discussion about that. http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=743

I will say this, if the outer magazine tube cracks again, like I said, I will send it back in and let them repair it again. But, once I receive it back for the second time. I will do the modification on it like Henry did the 45/70 rifle. There will be NO yelling or bashing coming from me, I just don't want this issue to reappear it's ugly mug since this is a issue that keeps coming up. Was asked about a refund....NEGATIVE. Not gonna happen cause I really like this rifle and the Henry company stands for something that most only wish they did. Henry actually gives back, especially to the youngsters in 4H and Boy Scouts to name a few.

Next week (hopefully), I gonna be getting my gun store's FFL info for ordering my fathers Henry rifle. After that is all said and done, I plan to purchase another Henry rifle shortly after for myself. I've collected Ruger firearms for a veeeeery long time (hence my username). Well, I'm done cause I've bought every Ruger firearm that I've ever wanted. Now, I want to collect Henry Lever Rifles.

not surprised to hear the positive report on Henry's customer service ... so far, our Henry 44 has run through something just under 1,000 rounds and has preformed extremely well .... hopefully, it will continue to do so

Henry must have had an issue with some of the tubes. Squatch has the same trouble with his Brass BB. Henry offered to fix it, but Squatch just had them ship a new tube and installed it himself.

Every manufacturer has issues from time to time, it is how they deal with them that counts. Henry obviously values both its reputation and their customers, unlike most manufacturers these days.

I asked them to ship me a new outer magazine tube but they said they only send out only certain parts for warranty work. I was about to mention him to them but decided against it. I remembered reading about his rifle on the other forum board. But, in all fairness, I was talking with the customer service from New Jersey. The shipping back to me conversation was done with Henry Wisconsin. If I have any more issues, I'll deal directly with Henry Wisconsin since they do the warranty work.

I agree 100%. They definitely stand out from the rest of the firearm manufactures.

Glad they are taking care of you. To get that tube I had to do some pleading and explaining. Mine has been fine ever since.

Since the economy crash in 2008 several heat treaters in the country have gone out of business. Manufacturers have had to scramble to find new ones. I also had trouble with an over heat treated and brittle aftermarket torsion bar front spring on one of my trucks. It broke! Lucky for me the final snap happened in the parking lot at work. I had a spare and it is an easy fix in the parking lot.

Just like Henry both the vendor and the manufacturer bent over backwards to remedy the problem. I had to send the broken bar back so they could lab test it. That's when I found out what I wrote above. The vendor had replacements in the mail to me the same day no questions asked.

Trash. I offered to send them pics of the broken one and was told no need.

Got my rifle back yesterday. Hope to shoot it this weekend. Wife said she haven't seen me this happy in a looong time. Just hope the rain holds out long enough for me to shoot for a few hours.
