On screen snowflakes
On screen snowflakes
I know this is the Christmas season and all, but is there a way I can disable the snowflakes? I already have problems with floaters in my eyes, and this isn't helping matters. As a last resort, I'll have to avoid this forum until after the holiday's, which I'd rather not do.

Go to the user control panel, board preferences, enable snowstorm, choose no, hit submit

Thank you for the disable info. Appearance-wise the snow flakes are a pleasant touch, but the animation causes my laptop more work and it gets too hot to use in my lap and the battery runs down significantly faster. Just FYI.

Re: On screen snowflakes
I think it's a nice touch; I don't suffer from floaters though, so I understand that.

Re: On screen snowflakes
I appreciate the fact that we are given the option on the lights and the snow.

Re: On screen snowflakes
I use my phone and for some reason I can't see the snow. The lights are cool though.
Re: On screen snowflakes
The lights could be more fun if you could shoot them out with a Henry rifle you control with your mouse. Kinda like the old space invaders game.

Re: On screen snowflakes
Go to the user control panel and make sure they are turned on. If not, turn them on, watch the snowstorm, then them off if you think they slow the phone or will drain your battery.

We get snow occasionally. We've had up to 9 inches (ya not a lot compared to other areas of the country). We're fortunate to live on a property where there is no need to shovel it. It does melt. So for us real snow is also a pleasant scene.

Can't see the Snow on my phone either. I can see the snow on my Kindle, but the flakes are very tiny pin pricks. Since my phone screen is significantly smaller the snow might be there but invisible to see.

I say it's more a case of living in an area where the snowfall probability is so minimal you would rarely (if ever) need to shovel it.We're fortunate to live on a property where there is no need to shovel it.
That it does - and a whole lot faster for you than me!It does melt.

There is that. However when we lived in town, it was necessary shovel the heavier snows. Since then, when they're shoveling in town, I don't bother. That's where the property characteristics play in. We moved here, out of town, in part because we were weary of living among snow flakes.

Re: On screen snowflakes
We are both retired, have a whole house genny, and don't have to be anywhere. When the big snows or freezes come, and they do... We stay inside. I read, work in the woodshop, clean all the guns, reload. Tina crochets, quilts, tunes/adjusts her equipment, makes soap..
Or, we tie more flies. We don't NEED more...
... That's an understatement. We just enjoy tying.
The point is, we don't have to venture out during that initial days of chaos following the disaster on the roads. We live on a tertiary road, and they get to it when they can.
Usually, to be fair, within twenty four to thirty six hours, even in a major storm. But they push a huge wall of snow across the bottom of the drive, sealing us in.
But, that's the subject for a different thread.
