Ten round range report
Ten round range report
It seems like it’s been forever but I finally got the BBSC 357 back to the range today. My “range” is actually some farm land my mother-in-law owns.
After shooting two 5 round groups, a young man with a scoped rifle comes traipsing by. Apparently he was the grandson of a man my MIL said could hunt the property. Since he was deer hunting and I was just punching holes in paper I decided to pack it up and let him hunt.
I did get two good groups at 35 yards while propped. I used my usual ammo (Monarch/PPU 158gr SJHP). The first round was low because I was using a six-o’clock hold. I quickly adjusted to cover the bottom half of the target and got good hits. The target on the left was my second string of 5. I must have gotten warmed up because it was a 3/4” group with the Skinner peep and blade front. I’m VERY happy with that one. I got to quit on a high note.

nicely done indeed .... for you and your Henry, you are no longer in the sighting in phase .... you've moved into the fine tuning stage

Always good to end it that way. Like the towel too!

Good shooting! I'll take that anytime. Is that the factory front blade?
Re: Ten round range report
Yes, sir. Now I just have to figure out how much (or little) to move that rear sight to the right to move my POI 1/2” to the right at 35 yards. It won’t be much. That makes it difficult to measure.

Great shooting. I would be proud of that!
Oh, I hope the young man got a deer. Don't know, after 10 rounds of 357 though.

I wouldnt knock either one of those groups even if the first one was low. What size aperture are you using in the skinner rear sight.
Don't let the old man in

Some great shooting there! Also a good thing the "hunter" let you know he was there and you ceased target shooting!

That’s some fine shooting deano. Would like to see some of your targets from 75 or even 100 yards if you get a chance.

Hmmm. I’ll have to use some bigger targets at that range. LOL.shootinthecinders wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 12:37 pmThat’s some fine shooting deano. Would like to see some of your targets from 75 or even 100 yards if you get a chance.

Yes! He was a high school aged kid. Glad I saw him before he walked out in front of my line of fire! Always be vigilant. Even at the range when you think you’re alone.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 11:27 amSome great shooting there!
