Winchester 1892 357?

Post by Ojaileveraction » Wed Aug 28, 2019 8:03 pm

Saw one at my LGS today. I know very little about Winchesters.
20 inch Round barrel . Didn't see any way to mount a peep sight.
Cressant steal butplate .
Anything anybody can tell me about 1892s I would appreciate.

Well, I am assuming this is a new(er) Miroku made Winchester.
If so great gun in any model or configuration.
You would have to go with a tang sight for a peep, or something that would mount in the barrel dovetail.

I have a '92 clone in 357, made by Rossi, Love it.
Would have to have some kind of tang sight.

Yes newer. Didn't even make the connection with Rossi 92s. I've seen many of those and I now know why it was familiar. I'm guessing fairly unused by the looks of inside the receiver.
Thank you

Drop 700 Bennies on the counter, step back, and go from there - assuming it's being sold as used, no box etc.

I appreciate the advice.
Doing research it's a Model 1892 Short Rifle.

I'm one who mulls. Hot and cold.
It would be a fist Winchester for me.

I bought it. Paid the asking.
Never seen another around here.
Felt it was a fair price for my area.
Have to wait a few days till I can pick it up.

Yeah, these were fairly hard to come by not long ago. The Turnbull version is just a bit more but not available in 357 the last I looked.

You might want to re-check what I posted.
You are $69,300 off.
