100 yd Flintlock Shootin’
Been awhile since I posted a report. Shoot mostly steel these days. But this morning trying to dial in at 100 yds better. Tend to pull right often. This is an 8” target. Making corrections as I go.

Ya that’s all me, nothing wrong with the rifle. I shoot the caplock better than the flinter.

Makes two of us. Im alot better with the capper but at 100 yards Id still be lucky to do that good. I havent even sent a ball down range yet this year. Ive been shooting more pistols and 22LR lately. The weather here with as wet as it has been has really messed up shooting much. I hope to change the roundball shooting though in Aug and Sept.

That's good shooting with a flintlock. I like my flintlocks and used to shoot them all the time but haven't had one out in over 2 years now. The old heart just doesn't work like it use to.

If I nailed that target to a tree and tried to hit it at 100 there would be a good pile of splinters and a fresh target for another day!

It was a good day of shooting and spent the afternoon relaxing in my camp. Jerky for supper though, too dry to have any fires. No hot coffee today but lots of cold water in the cooler.

Re: 100 yd Flintlock Shootin’
Yesterday I was thinking while making a pot of coffee with an old fashioned percolator that Ranch Roper was probably making boiled coffee in his camp. Sorry to hear you can’t have a fire, can’t even start a day without coffee.RanchRoper wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 10:46 pmIt was a good day of shooting and spent the afternoon relaxing in my camp. Ya the fire would improve camp life for sure. I intend to camp well into the fall and early winter so there will be coffee!

Ha…that scene always makes me laugh. The very last thing you would want in winter is to get soaking wet rolling around in a creek.

Nope, not a thing wrong. I'd probably need to prop the barrel on your shoulder just to shoot. As always, good shooting.
