Yes, no swivel hinges for a shoulder strap. Just a plain Jane 1860 Henry. The ladder sight will be fun to experiment with on the 250 yd range.

RR,

I think that your new rifle is beautiful!

You can share ammunition with the new one and with your other firearms too! :)

I think that using a dealer that you know well, that is fairly close to you in Canada, etc. is a good choice too.

Thanks Cate, I'm looking forward to getting it. Yes, having a dealer close is handy. I bought my Henry BB from Cabelas in Calgary which is 3 hours away, but if I had a problem, I could at least take it there and work with HRA to get it resolved. However with the H011C Original Henry, Cabelas won't special order, nor will any of the other bigger Sporting Goods guys here. I would have to buy from a Calgary Shooting club that sells guns in their store front at the range. Nice store for sure, but again, if I have a problem....? I know HRA would do their best to look after me, but shipping a rifle back and forth to them across the border; I'm not sure how that would work or how long it could take. There's an online outfit as well called IRUNGUNS.com that imports from the USA but again, what happens if I have a problem under warranty? Plus there's the price; with the crappy Canadian dollar right now, it's about $1.40 for a US dollar. So that $2300 US rifle is big bucks here. No discounts offered because it's a special order.
Anyhow, I did not read ANY bad reports of the Uberti 1860 Henry, and some guys have been shooting theirs for years trouble free, so I am pretty darn excited to get one! :) It's a cool looking rifle and true to the original as far as a replica goes.

Here's a cool video of Hickok45 shooting it. Sweet! :D

I hope it's everything you expect. They are fine looking rifles.

You know as soon as you get that rifle RR mother nature will throw her curse at you and you wont be able to shoot it for a week or two. Just sayin.

A lot of the parts for a 1866 or 1873 fit in your 1860 , like short stroke kits , wire spring ect . Keep this handy for parts and race gun parts .

Hope it's better than you're expecting. Just watched Hickok45 shooting the 1860, and notice this vid he mentioned the "hot barrel" more than during other chats. I'd bet with your cooler clime up north, it probably won't be as much of an issue. Anyway, a good pair of leather gloves can easily handle it.

Reloading is next, right?
Enjoy-enjoy.

Hopefully I never need to unload a dozen rounds in a hurry in the back country...at the range I'll slip a glove on if I want to go all "Rifleman" on the target board! :)

The dealer here is picking up his shipment this week in Calgary and my 1860 is supposed to be in it. I'm trying to get lined up for next Saturday to go and get it. Hopefully get to the range on Sunday. Fingers crossed!
