The truth, exposed nakedly, brings terrible fear to those who live in the dark.

I do not belong to any political party, but I lean Conservative in most subjects, so, I often disagree with someone's opinion to the point that I feel anger. I guess that's normal. What is not normal is taking someone's life because of it.

I feel sad when I hear or read statements of politicians or the press that are intended to inspire this hatred and encourage someone to take this kind of action. I guess that's what we have to endure if we have free speech in our country, but I do wish that we could show our displeasure when we hear this hatred by denouncing them and showing no support for the person or organization that employs them.

The House of Representatives could not even have a minute of silence yesterday. Despicable!

Will this murder change America? Well, not if we who have been silent do not speak up against this disease.

Charlie Kirk was very much more than a mere “influencer”. He was a leader of a huge movement of America’s youth.

I have so much to say about this but I’m going to keep it to:

RIP Charlie and peace to your wife and children. :(

I had my post removed. There are more post in this thread that were more inflammatory than mine. My post did not take sides, it did not mention firing squads or public executions or other violent acts mentioned in other posts. Come on admins, lets have level playing field.

The Wiz, I wasn't aware of anyone removing your post. I'll look into it.

For now, let's all remember OUR rules here.

This was an act of evil perpetrated on a man who welcomed open and intelligent discussion of differences.

Rest in Peace Charlie and my prayers for you family.

I'm still seething mad after watching the video of the dirt bag stabbing the young lady in the neck and now this.... I seriously believe we need to go back to public hangings in clear cut cases where there's no question of guilt.
I have been on Jury Duty once and it was an amazing experience. Medical Malpractice. Dirt bag Surgeon was found guilty and the poor woman he butchered was awarded a few million, a too few million, for her injuries in his so-called care. Regardless of his incompetence, his Insurer's Attorneys provided "expert witnesses" who were certain the doctor performed his duties perfectly and was innocent. We, the jury, didn't agree.

I've been called to Jury Duty again next month. It's a sobering responsibility.

Clear cut? No question of guilt?

My late friend and fellow founding forum member, PT7, was a deeply religious Christian and politically ultra-conservative. I am neither of those. I never would have guessed we'd become long distance friends. But, we were. We had so many other things in common that we could not not become friends. But, we were careful about offending each other, especially when it was unlikely that we'd agree. He always signed his emails and ended our phone conversations with his signature, "Take Good Care." I miss him.

I'm afraid for our country. These are dangerous times with threatening political and religious rhetoric flying in almost every direction from too many people capable of actually doing serious damage, both here and internationally.

Over the decades, Bob and I each independently had the habit of watching one particular film regularly for all of the reasons people watch good films; especially, good morality plays like The Ox-bow Incident. I would add to that another Henry Fonda film, 12 Angry Men. This might be a good time to watch them again and not just for fun.

Ours is a Constitutional system of rules and laws, a Republic; but, as Benjamin Franklin famously stated, only "...if you can keep it." I'd add to that ...from the mob.

I learned about this just now on this forum. Very sad. I knew of him from stuff my wife follows.

I tuned out news and all media except a couple of forums I’m on so out of the loop now by choice. But I sleep better.

RIP Charlie Kirk.
