Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
my introduction to cooking on a griddle came in the 1960's while working my way through college at a family restaurant named Barney's Dairy Bar and Grill ..... the griddle was large with room for a couple of people to cook on it at the same time .... its surface had multiple zones where temps could be manipulated related to the type of food being cooked .... I was (at best) a short order cook who only handled basic burgers and such ..... Blackstone is a well established company that produces a range of high quality griddles .... their propane powered units are exceptional .... I have no need or desire for a gas griddle so I haven't paid much attention to them .... in my experience, most electric griddles are very similar in basic design and use .... the Presto unit I have is one of them and does it job .... in reading about Blackstone's 22-inch electric griddle ===https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DQ7DX8P?re ... title&th=1=== I found some unique features that interest me .... most important, it has two distinctly different cooking zones .... they can be set to the same or to completely different cooking temps .... second, its cooking surface is a Non Stick Ceramic Titanium Coated Stainless Steel Griddle .... third, it has a easy to move Glass Hood that can be open or closed while cooking .... its due to arrive tomorrow and I'm looking forward to putting it to work

If it’s as good as their propane will be the best.

My wifes son has one of these and really likes it. For me I have enough cooking items and dont need anymore. As a matter of fact Im kind of going backwards in tech stuff as I have found that the good old fashion cooking on the charcoal grill still taste pretty darn good. I bought a 60.00 weber grill and we have been using it alot to cook our meat. Still like the way a burger taste on the charcoal grill

Jim, I had decided recently that a Blackstone grill would help round out my deck cooking this summer. I'll be waiting with interest to see how you like the electric grill.

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
I have the propane version of the 22” Blackstone and I wish it were electric. I originally bought the propane model to take in the RV with us. But it’s too big and heavy for my storage bins so I leave it at home. (I did buy a griddle plate for half of my Weber Q Series gas grill and that works great other than being small) Since I’m using my Blackstone only at home I ordered a stand for it. Propane works great but electric would be more convenient since it doesn’t leave the patio and there is an outlet right below it. Hope the electric works out for you Jim and we’ll look forward to your report.
I’m with you BigAl, I enjoy charcoal grilling too. This is last night grilling steaks. No fire in the grill yet as I had just lit the briquettes. Note I’m using my wife’s smoking heater for comfort. It was in the low double digits when I was grilling.

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
I've looked at Blackstone's gas griddles for many years .... while they interest me in many ways, there size/weight almost always have prevented me from going any further than just looking .... this 22" electric model weighs 26 lbs .... it is designed to placed on a counter inside and used there .... ours will be kept in a case in our camper's basement .... we will take it out and cook on it both at home and on the road .... I do plan to research a folding stand with wheels but want to have the griddle in hand before making any such decision

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
our new Blackstone E-Series griddle arrived, has been unboxed and assembled .... most of the pictures below don't need any comments .... the second picture does show the 2 cooking zones .... the third shows a thermostat for one of them .... I project cooking on it most of the time with the hood removed .... the next to last picture shows a light that indicates it is plugged in .... have tested it to make sure the elements heat up, no cooking on it yet ....
FIRST IMPRESSIONS :
1. it is a large unit .... too large for us to leave out on the counter when not in use, so storage has to be taken into consideration .... with our way of camping where we are parked on the same site for months at a time, I can see it as being something we use often ....
2. solid construction .... absolutely no concerns arose during its assembly
3. it is designed for inside cooking so consideration has to be given for weather while in use
all in all, we are impressed so far

Re: Blackstone 22-Inch Electric Griddle
That's a nice looking grill! A good size too. The OCD in me loves that you get digital control of each side. I'm sure it'll be a few times learning what the best setting is for each thing you're cooking, which makes for lots of good eating. I like that the griddle can be cleaned off the unit too, you'll do a better job in your sink with that for sure.
I have a Weber Q, mine is the 2000 size now as I've had the 1000 size too, both propane. They're amazingly efficient with the propane, heat quickly, and don't have dramatically different "hot spots" like some grills do. I love these Weber Q grills, leave mine on our back porch, but have taken it camping a few times, easily portable. I know they make lots of accessories for them, including a flat top griddle, but I don't have one yet. I'll freely admit that what I like best is that the time from lighting it, to eating a couple burgers, is the shortest on the little grills. I'm an eater more than a griller.
My biggest issue grilling is that my GF likes her steaks and burgers med-well, and I like med-rare. She almost always has me put hers back on the grill for a little longer. I've just accepted that when my steak is perfect, it'll get to rest for a bit while I make the pink go away in hers.

I like the see thru top on your Blackstone, nice to see the food if you decide to griddle with the top down.
Here’s my Weber Q1000 grill with the griddle on one side. I could put a griddle on the other side for more area but Weber recommends not doing so as the heat will build up without a grate to let some escape.
